If you haven't heard of Drew Struzan, shame on you. Probably the finest movie poster artist of all time, he's so good it's very hard to tell that his posters are hand-drawn and don't use photographs like every other movie poster out there.

StarWars.com has a very nice interview with the man behind the Star Wars and Indiana Jones posters, showing all his work on the two series including the excellent Infernal Machine and Emperor's Tomb covers. Although they don't really mention them, and the brilliant IM cover sadly gets relegated to an advert.

With the long-awaited teaser trailer for Indiana Jones 4 premiering this past Valentine's Day (and going on to become the most watched trailer in Paramount's history), there was some doubt that we would get another one seeing as the film's release is so close. However, IESB.net reports that Paramount is putting together a second trailer for the movie that should release in "mid to late April."

The article also mentions the interesting fact that the movie will be distributed on a whopping 12,000 prints, the biggest release ever for the studio.

A DVD release for the it's-not-nearly-as-good-as-the-comic-but-still-mostly-watchable Sam & Max animated series from FOX Kids circa 1997 has been a long time coming, but it is now finally upon us in what is by all accounts a stellar package from Shout! Factory (not that we expected any less).

On a related note, Telltale has updated their store with some new items including the DVD, as well as introducing some new product bundles.

So, you'll be buying it now then?

oh yes

You probably know Jeff Smith's "Bone" as a critically acclaimed and long running independent comic that Telltale Games started adapting into episodic adventure games a few years ago before moving on, but according to The Hollywood Reporter we can expect to see Fone and his cousins on the big screen at some point in the future.

The article reports that Warner Bros. has acquired the rights for a Bone film adaptation, for which Jeff Smith will serve as executive producer. It's also mentioned that the powers-that-be have yet to decide whether the adaptation will be animated or live action. The fact that this even has to be discussed kind of worries me, but I'm sure whatever happens it'll turn out better than that molested Nickelodeon TV version would have!

It's also unclear whether or not this will have a negative impact on Telltale's chances for getting the rights to adapt future Bone game episodes, but then, their desire to pursue such an endeavor is equally unclear.

Update by Kroms: There's an unrelenting snow-storm outside that's the cause of my extreme boredom; but in a case of my boredom becoming your (possibly sick, twisted, sadistic) pleasure, I was moping around enough to find a short, amateur but fantastic animation of Out from Boneville. It was drawn frame-by-frame, to wonderful results. There's a taste of what Bone could be as a cartoon, right there.

Before you yell and scream 'nooo!!!' before running off to explain how Han shot first and how this episode of South Park was the greatest ever, let me just clarify that Spielberg and Lucas are not tinkering with the films themselves. Phew.

However, from the company that can release new Star Wars DVDs every year, we present the Special Edition Indy Trilogy, available in a box-set... or separately. Huh?

This a real kick in the face to everyone who bought the previous trilogy DVD box-set (like, everyone), and what was wrong with that big Making Of documentary on it? That was pretty definitive, I thought.

Still, at least there is some Indy IV content on Last Crusade and the Lego Indy demo, but as the film will be out a week later and the game the week after that, is there any point to these DVDs?

As you can probably tell, I'm not a fan of this idea. But what do you guys think?

As suggested in the previous post, IndyJones.net is now fully up-to-date! Hooray!

It's been a personal mission of mine over the last month or so to make IndyJones live up to its tagline 'The Number One Source for Indiana Jones Gaming!' I now think we're there!

Here's the full list of updates I've added to the site:

  • Added Last Crusade Info & Music Pages. Last Crusade is getting on a bit now, but is still one of the major Indy Games. It deserves some respect!
  • Added Emperor's Tomb Reviews and Music Pages, Updated Emperor's Tomb Info page. Been a long time coming, but now Emperor's Tomb is fully updated. The Music page is the most worthwhile addition, as there isn't anything like it on the net. Now you can enjoy Clint Bajakian's last and greatest Indiana Jones soundtrack!
  • Added Lego Indy & 2008 Previews Pages. Now you can keep up with all the latest previews for the upcoming Indy games on one handy site!
  • Updated Lego Indy and 2008 Facts pages. Now we know a lot more about both, whether Facts or Rumours! Any notable videos have been put on these pages too.
  • More Images added to Lego Indy. We'll keep on adding any good ones as they come out.
  • Added 'Hidden Room 2', 'An artist's signature' and Images to Infernal Machine Trivia page. Well, I didn't know about the Close Encounters room until recently!
  • Added Infernal Machine Music page. This is the big one, but I've talked about enough in the post below! The only one of its kind!
  • Updated Desktop Adventures page. Added Info and box-art for the runt of the 90s Indy litter.
  • Added Greatest Adventures page. The lovechild of Super Star Wars and Indiana Jones finally gets its own page.
  • Updated Fan Games to include Last Crusade 2. Whether any of these games will be released or not is another matter.
  • Added Revenge of Ancients page. The first ever Indy adventure game gets a page!
  • Added Cancelled Games page. A detailed page for all the Indy games that didn't quite make it. Well, did you know the Spear of Destiny actually exists, was actually captured by the Nazis, actually presented to Adolf Hitler and actually now sits in a museum in Vienna?
I'm sure more will come, but that's enough for now I think! Enjoy!

Oodles of new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull publicity photos have been uncovered by some dedicated magazine-perusing fans such as those at the easily offended Harrison Ford Forums (scroll all the way through the thread), as well as those at The Raven, which you may know as the forum of TheRaider.net.

Some lovely stuff there!

Someone found a new official Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull poster. This one features Harrison Ford and - godammit - Shia LaBoeuf side by side. This is, obviously, not the final Drew Struzan poster, which is probably still a few months away and will likely feature the entire main cast (and will look something like this if we're lucky), but I figured you might want to check this one out anyway.

Fed up with seeing the US flag and soldiers who don't like pointing guns at prisoners?

Well then, thankfully Empire Online's here to save the day!

High Windows Media Trailer

High Quicktime Trailer

Ahhh, that's better. And this trailer also clears up one horrifying rumour - that Europe wasn't getting Indiana Skull until June. Thankfully that's false. It may not be May 22nd, but it certainly maybe May, if we may.

It's here!

Update! The trailer is now also available on the official site!

Update, again: If you want a speculation-filled mini-breakdown of the trailer, then Empire Online might be worth a gander.

Update, yet again: Oh, and if you want to discuss the trailer or the film or anything Indy IV related, here's the forum thread to do it!

Dark Horse Comics recently released a cover and a few scant details about the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comic book adaptation. The cover was, it must be said, fairly dull - featuring Indy, Shia LaBeouf with switchblade and sword, and some miscellaneous ruins.

However, they have just released a far superior alternate cover at ComingSoon.net, which could have been the one for Infernal Machine, until you take a closer look. It'd make a good film poster too. Drew, the gauntlet has been thrown!<:MORENEWS:>
What a fine leather jacket!

Also now available, Italian magazine L'espresso have a new feature up on Indy IV. Unless you speak Italian you won't be able to read it, but there are three small new photos up in the feature. The last one is particularly hilarious.

Yes, you already know that the Indy IV trailer is coming on Thursday 14th - Valentine's Day.

Now we know the exact time.

It will debut sometime during Good Morning America between 8am-9am, creating situations across the country a lot like that South Park episode. It will then be up on the Internet.

For the US, 9am. For us in GMT land, 5pm, Thursday.

As previously reported, the Indiana Jones 4 trailer will be attached to The Spiderwick Chronicles on February 14th (next Wednesday). For those of you uninterested in seeing Mark Waters' magnum opus on the silver screen or just not a resident of North America, the trailer will also be posted on the film's official site a day later.

Anyway, nothing you haven't already heard before, but this time it's confirmed, which is nice after all those past disappointments.

Oh, and John Hurt had a short chat with Empire magazine, and he still refuses to admit who he's playing...

Furthermore, the Indiana Jones official website has a lovely new featurette up focusing on Indy's Hat & Jacket. Wow, Harrison Ford's bald!

The good folks at Movieweb claim to have an exclusive picture of the fourth Indiana Jones movie's titular crystal skull (though it is presumably one of many). See it.

Does that skull look...otherworldly to you?

Update: The studio made Movieweb take down the image. However, you can still see it at IndyJones.net.

Now this is just plain conjecture here from that wholly reliable source, MTV.

But whatever, it's still a new picture of Indy from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. And the speculation is that Indy's standing on some boxes from the warehouse seen at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. You can just about make out 'Top Secret - Do Not Open!' on the crate on Indy's left.

Now is Spielberg referencing Raiders, just teasing us with a fan-baiting image... or is the Ark going to reappear?

Also the other Empire photo of Cate Blanchett's Agent Spalko is now up too.

The new issue of Empire Magazine will be out shortly in the UK, and they'll have a short new preview of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull along with a couple of new pictures.

Check out a preview of the preview here! Doesn't Indy look uncomfortable with that rocket launcher? Considering he carried one on his back for a lot of Infernal Machine just six years previously. And tried to blow up the Ark (Ren?).

Another pic will be of Cate Blanchett's Russian Agent Spalko. Producer Frank Marshall says John Williams is about to start recording and that tonally the film will be "closest to the third one (Last Crusade). It's all adults. I mean, you have the sidekick in Shia (LaBeouf), but you don't have a Short Round and I think the banter between the characters is as fun as it was in the third movie".

In other Indy IV news, we actually have a picture of the titular Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! Okay, it might be slightly different to how you're imagining it. Notice Agent Spalko and Shia LeBeouf above Indy. And what do those skeletons have on their heads? Is that a Conquistador's hat on one? Undead Spaniards in Indy IV! You heard it here first!

A new featurette is up at the Official Indiana Jones site, where production designer Guy Hendrix Dyas (who also worked on Superman Returns, another "return to the 80s" film, and has a great name) takes us on a tour round Indy's new house, as originally seen in Raiders of the Lost Ark and coming again in the new film.

Check it out here. If you're very eagle-eyed, you might notice some references to past Indy adventures, such as photos of Sallah, Willie Scott, and Gennadi VolodnikovHenry Jones Snr.

And I almost had a heart-attack too, after I thought I'd uncovered a secret Indy IV teaser trailer on the site too. Clicking on one of the three flags at the bottom left of the videos page takes you to http://www.indianajones.com/intl/uk/teaser, but unfortunately that's just a teaser website with no information on it whatsoever. A bit of a tease, if you ask me.

Okay, hopefully the fifty-seventh time's the charm: the latest rumor for the Indiana Jones 4 trailer is that it'll be aired during Entertainment Tonight on February 14th, and then officially posted online on the following day (the 15th, for those keeping score at home). The latest rumor was February 3rd, aka The Super Bowl, but hey, at least the month was right.

As with the last movie Mojo covered, At World's End, there will probably only be one, full length, trailer for KOCS as opposed to a teaser trailer first. Lucasfilm is employing the "Hey, Indiana Jones is its own hype" strategy, and unfortunately for us it's probably the right move.

For all those like myself who were desperately trying to condense that Portrait teaser poster of Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Evil Demonic Skull (have we done that one? Probably) into a Landscape so we can all use it as our Desktop Wallpaper, our prayers have at last been answered!

Yes, the Official Indiana Jones site has been updated with a load of wallpapers, buddy icons etc.! Including this one!

Hooray! No more hat-and-whip-on-a-box background on my computer!
