More Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystalline Entity news here, as the latest issue of Empire Magazine comes with a free Indy poster!

Unfortunately it's not the recent Drew Struzan teaser poster that we all love here at Mojo, but is actually just one of Indy standing in shadow which looks remarkably like a close-up of this.

Anyway, you can buy it from 3rd of January here in the UK. Alternatively you could buy the proper one...

Variety Vanity Fair has recently ran a huge cover story on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that is now available for your enjoyment online. Included is tons of information about the new film and several new photos. And don't forget to read the Q&As with Spielberg and Lucas. There is also a video from on the set.

Some new set pictures of suspicious origin from Indiana Jones and The Tingler Rigged The F***ing Poll have made their way to the forum corner of the accurately titled fan site Harrison Ford Web. The photos depict the interior set of some sort of ancient (Mayan?) temple. You heard it here first: Indy explores a temple. Man I wish I'd been more careful about the coverage for this movie!

There's also a possibly spoilerish description below the images, but read that at your own risk. Speaking of spoilers, did you know that the biggest ones about the movie have come from the upcoming LEGO sets and the product descriptions for them? Hoping to endear himself to LucasArts the same way he did with Telltale when he won a copy of Sam & Max: Season 1, JP recently sent the company photos of some painstaking Indiana Jones LEGO fan work, but the company only responded with, "It needs less canned animations and more Euphoria. Also, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron continues the immensely successful Star Wars Battlefront series, which has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide since its introduction in 2004!"

You like the Indy IV poster by Drew Struzan so much you want to marry it, huh? Then good news! The Star Wars Shop has it available now!

Blu-Tack it to your wall and pretend that Indy and a Giant Skull actually want to hang out with you!

While you're at it, buy the T-Shirt too! C'mon guys, we all know if we don't buy all this stuff and support LucasFilm we'll never get those Star Wars Prequel Special Editions (with 10% more Jar-Jar) we've always wanted!

There's a new poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Maze now up, starring Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf and Richard O'Brien.

See the new extremely cool poster here. It's by famous LucasFilm (and LucasArts) poster (and cover) artist Drew Struzan, which is enough to make me form a sizeable drool puddle under my chair.

I'm guessing this is a teaser poster as it just features Indy and a skull (wonder if it's called Murray?), but it's still great.

Yep. Originally George Lucas predicted that the first teaser trailer for the film would be out "around Thanksgiving," and more recently that has changed to"before Christmas." But now it seems Lucasfilm/Paramount has decided to keep the trailer to itself until the Superbowl, giving the first Crystal Skull footage the exposure of the most watched TV event of the year for the marginal cost of $6 million, likely paid for with Freelance Police's marketing budget.

More here.

Online everywhere (including here) today are the first three official photos from Indiana Jones and the Male Reproductive Organs. They all look fantastic, especially if you pretend that's Sophia Hapgood (or anyone else really) instead of Shia LaBeouf beside our favorite archaeologist. That second picture in particular is awesome - Harrison Ford looks no worse for the wear.

Ironically, while this movie that no one thought would ever get made is at the height of post-production, the Indiana Jones video game that has supposedly been in production for like five years is being treated by LucasArts as if it doesn't exist. Remember the last time we heard anything about Indy's next-gen adventure? Yeah, it was E3 2006, when LucasArts was talking about how Euphoria is going to replace air as what we need to breathe. I know that the game was quietly delayed until around the release of the movie, but geeze, some acknowledgment of its existence after a year and a half would be nice. But anyway.

Update: Someone has posted on Youtube what may be about fifteen seconds of footage from the upcoming Indy 4 teaser trailer (most likely to be attached to National Treasure 2) but the quality's so bad it could just as easily be the end cutscene of Freelance Police. Still, if you're curious. Erm yeah fake

The official Indiana Jones site is reporting that filming for Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was completed on October 11th (hey, mine and Sean "Young Indy" Flanery's birthday!).

To celebrate the site has had a bit of a spruce-up, with new features including a wrap party video (alongside all the other 7 videos) and some new wallpapers. There's a lot of room for new stuff too, with 'Coming Soon' tags on new pages for Community, Games and Marshall College (a quiz page?). Have a look!

I know it's not strictly game related, but honestly, does anyone care when the subject is Indiana Jones? Well, it's sort of game-related, too.

You see, several different websites are reporting the confirmation that Steven Spielberg gave today that them pesky Russians will be replacing the Nazis in the upcoming Indy KOCS, aka Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Much like they did (as you remember, right?) in the very-good-well-I-liked-it-nuts-to-you-guys Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. This news has been pretty much guessed before, but this is the first time it's actually been confirmed by The Directing Beard himself.

Spielberg also suggests that The Producing Beard (for his own anonymity we'll refer to him as GL, and that's Mr. Star Wars and not Green Lantern) is once again causing trouble by trying to get Spielberg to start using digital cameras rather than film-based ones. Spielberg is holding out so far against his nagging spouse. Spielberg says that if it worked for directors before him, then it's good enough for Indy IV.

In other more exciting news, the Futurama movie trailer is now up on YouTube and is hilarious. What's that got to do with us? Well, um... Frank Welker does the voice of Nibbler and he played Megatron in the game version of Transformers which was made by Traveller's Tales who made Lego Star Wars. And he played some characters in Knights of the Old Republic 2. Look for god's sake, it's new Futurama, do I need a reason to be excited and start abusing my power here? Gimme a break guys!

Update: apparently those jerks in Fox can't take a joke, so the trailer's been pulled. Those jerks. Hey... is that a Fox Lawyer coming towards me rig-
Update2: Just managed to get away and find another YouTube link. Enjoy again!

About a week ago, a 24-year old performer named Tyler Nelson was interviewed by local Oklahoma newspaper The Edmond Sun. The thing about Tyler is that he has a small part in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skullwootwoot, and in the interview he divulged lots of key plot info for the movie. That's right, he took a page out of Dr. Wolfgang's playbook and violated his NDA, despite being involved in, you know, a secretive high profile film project.

Well, word on the street is that Spielberg ain't exactly happy with Nelson's little slip-up, and he's said to have cut the young actor's only scene. A spokesman for Spielberg is quoted as saying, "Who knows whether that particular person will ever work in this town again?"

Whoops! So, any of you Mojo readers who happen to be part of the cast or crew of the upcoming Indiana Jones film, I'd have to advise against doing that.

That's what Ain't It Cool News seems to think, that a teaser trailer for Indiana Jones and the Cocks will be shown before Robert Zemeckis' motion-capture epic Beowulf.

Since Beowulf is being released in November and Lucas has said that the Indy teaser should be expected around Thanksgiving, the notion is plausible, and therefore 100% confirmed.

And it is:

Better than Kingdom of the Molybdenum Skull I suppose

Well, there you go.

Update: StarWarsShop.com is already selling T-shirts with the title on it.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of some determined fans, the internet now has some more Indiana Jones 4 flavored sustenance to chew on. A devoted Indy fan and reader of Harrison Ford Web snapped a few photos that glimpse some of the massive studio sets on which the movie is currently filming as well as a few props that have been tagged as belonging to the shoot. The sets are either at a distance or only partly visible, but it's impressively sneaky work nonetheless. It's always fun to gaze, and it's not like you need much to speculate.

Of course, if you're too darned upstanding to take part in that shady stuff, you could always just read this new Sam & Max: Season 2 preview by Digital Entertainment News on your way to bible school.

But just the same: Spoiler warning for the following links.

If you happen to find yourself within the walls of this site you could type "indiana jones" in the search box and discover what are apparently set photos from the location shoot in Hawaii last month. There seems to be no shortage of vintage cars in the movie, but other than that your guess as to the significance of these locations to the story is as good as mine.

Similarly, you could also search for "spielberg" and "harrison ford" on the site to pull up what look like set photos from the shoot at Yale. And who knows what else you might find should you prove to have a wider attention span than yours truly?

TVShowsOnDVD reports a few tikiriffic new details on the upcoming 3-disc Sam & Max animated series set being developed by the excellent Shout! Factory. Read the source forum thread by the set's producer Brian Ward to learn about several of the extra features as well as his personal feelings toward the product. You can't help but respect Shout!'s business acumen.

According to Brian we're still several months away from a release date which, due to the arbitrarily sensitive nature of the project, can't be announced at this time. You probably won't be too off if you set your sights for early '08 though.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that a DVD release of the semi-educational The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series has been loudly requested by its fans for years. After countless internet rumors and promises on the part of LucasFilm that date all the way back to 2002, such a set was eventually announced. What was taking so long? The fact that the DVDs include a ridiculously extensive supply of documentaries to complement the episodes.

With the release date for the first of the three volume release, October 23, looming on the horizon a few new details have been made known. Expect this 12-disc leviathan to run you a healthy $117.99, and expect the disc space not reserved for the episodes themselves to be filled to the brim with extras.

Highlights of the series included a handful of episodes penned by Frank Darabont, infamously rejected screenwriter for Indiana Jones 4, though I'm not sure if his episodes are encompassed by this first release.

More info here.

Six potential titles for the fourth Indiana Jones film have been registered with the MPAA. Here they are for those who can't be bothered to click.
Indiana Jones and the City of Gods

Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds

Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold

Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant
I think I'll put my money on City of Gods which has been rumored forever. It's a good thing too, because the other titles are pretty horrible. Place all bets here!

Okay, so it's time to fill in the news gap with another one of our Whenever-We-Feel-Like-It Indiana Jones 4 updates. Enjoy the following outdated coverage that you could have easily found elsewhere:

First off, the production has recently left Hawaii, which was apparently the setting of the film's opener as well as some out of control action sequences. The tropical state was standing in for South America, as was also the case for the opening sequence of Raider of the Lost Ark. Hmmm. This marks the end of the film's location shooting (which included New Mexico and Connecticut), and the rest of principle photography will take place on sets in LA.

As revealed at the Comic-Con (and leaked everywhere else in the weeks leading up to it), Karen Allen will be reprising her role from Raiders as Indy's old flame, Marion Ravenwood. Expect to see some other Ravenwoods make an appearance too, much to the chagrin of anyone who dislikes Shia LaBeouf or the resurrection of characters previously said to be dead. It is pretty great to see some of these guys together again though.

Finally, as JP mentioned earlier, the official Indiana Jones web site has experienced a complete overhaul to accommodate the influx of news courtesy of the new film, and there's a bunch of stuff there for you to fiddle around with, such as wallpapers and new videos. You can find tons more, spoiler-y information about Indiana Jones 4 floating around the internet, but if you intend to completely ruin the movie for yourself, you're doing it without my help.

Incidentally, Autumn Moon is hiring! Why not be their Lead Programmer?

At this weekend's Comic-Con in San Deigo, guests were treated to a live link to the set of Indiana Jones. Due to the magic of the internet, you tube too can view the footage.

Update: The newly redesigned official indianajones.com site has some footage screened at Comic-Con of the IJ4 movie shoot. Lovely to see a portrait of an old face in the first few seconds.
