To confess...While the trailer was loading, I was nervous. The reason was because I was afraid to be disappointed but I think final result it?s really cool.
I don't know if, I would prefer to avoid the recap thing of the other 3 movies, and just play the trailer with the new film...
Still,I look forward to see the film, but suspicious of what I may find on the overall.

I think if you go into the movie theatre suspicious, you might not enjoy the film as much. Just try to suspend your judgement!

The russian soldiers disguised as US soldiers all have past US Presidents on their name tags.

    Very funny.

Nice. And for people to be able to right click and save...:

    480 | 720 | 1080

Why can't you just wait for it to load in Quicktime then click file->save? That always works for me.
  • Gabez on 15 Feb, 2008, 17:21…
I thought that was only in Pro -- but I I'll try it next time.

    The 1080 link doesn't work :P

    Any non-QuickTime ones?

Is it me, or in the bit that Indy swings on the light after the car, does he miss, swing back and THEN crashes into the truck? If so, cool!
  • Gabez on 14 Feb, 2008, 18:46…
Yeah, I think so. The line "damn, I thought that was closer" makes more sense that way as well.

Also, I was surprised (but delighted!) by the music at the start. It's a version of "Summon the Worms" from "The Children of Dune," but I don't know what version or where it's from. I haven't seen any of the Dune films so I don't know -- I only know "Summon the Worms" because it was in the Narnia super-trailer. The actual theme is at 1:40 of the song.

I thought the "Recap" prologue was pretty lame and that one-liner that the trailer ended on should have been followed immediately by a cut to the title to actually make it effective, but the actual footage from the movie looks fantastic.

You mean that recap didn't make you soil yourself? Just me then! :~
  • The Tingler on 14 Feb, 2008, 17:56…
It did me! They actually made Indy grabbing the Holy Grail look exciting!
  • Gabez on 14 Feb, 2008, 17:11…
Awesome! It looks like they've updated it -- it looks very slick and flashy -- but still kept it 100% Indiana Jones. Wow!

Hmmm, interesting trailer. They look to have captured the humour pretty well, and the action scene in the warehouse - which I think we can assume is the warehouse from the end of Raiders by this point - looks great. The later jungle stuff looks fun too, but it also looks a bit... CGI'd. This is just a trailer so the special effects aren't complete by any means at this stage, but the Indy films always used physical stunts, which is why the chase scenes are so exhilirating in the earlier movies. I hope they've done as much physically as they can in this new one.

But certainly, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie :D

I think they have -- from what I heard, and also I think the trailer does look pretty physical. Certainly a lot more than most modern day films.
  • Udvarnoky on 14 Feb, 2008, 17:16…
Agreed, aside from some CGI matte work on the cliff and that big explosion all the effects looked physical to me.

It's gonna have CGI, it's just (hopefully) not going to be overdone.

    Wow, it's early! Yay!
