4 months, nearly to the day, but we're actually honestly back. We're not "Mini," we're not "Back From The Dead," we're full on crazy-bad-spelling-excessive-feature-bloat-user-account-hosted-network Mojo. Rejoice!

With the return of Mixnmojo comes a new big update to the site, and with that big update comes a couple big features we'd like to talk about:
  • MojoMessenger: After browsing for a bit you'll find that all email links have vanished from the site, both in the Comments pages and the news updates themselves. Where you used to see a mailto: link you'll instead see some crazy link within our site.

The reason for this change is to cut down on spammers stealing email addresses from the site, and for all the fun that will inevitably ensue. Once you create an account and log in you can send and receive messages with other readers and news updaters on Mojo, either by knowing their username or by clicking on them when they post a comment.(at this point it would probably be a good idea to sign up to Mojo with the same user name as you use on the forums)

The messages are all stored in an inbox on Mixnmojo, where you can read, reply, or forward the message to your email address. Never again will your email inbox get spammed because your email address appeared on the site.

  • Folder-Tab Navigation: We've added tabs at the top of every page to make it quicker to jump around on the site. Anyone who has already used our forums has seen them, but has probably been annoyed that they don't go anywhere. Well, mostly they still don't go anywhere, but thats going to change in the near future.

As you can see, the "Features," "Community," and "Hints & Tips" tabs are still greyed out, but will be opening soon. It's pretty obvious what will be behind each of them. In the mean time you can browse the news archives by category by clicking on any of the titles directly below the tabs.

  • The Future: So with those 3 inactive tabs maybe we're not completely all here. We have 3 new feature stories up right now, available right above this post, but the complete archive back to Mixnmojo's opening (or as close as we can get) will be online in the coming days. Also we plan to finally offer walkthroughs and hints for LucasArts games right at the main site, as well as a place to feature and showcase the numerous sites that make up the Mojo community and Mojo Network.
Hopefully that was a sufficient filling-in on what's been going on and what's coming soon! From Spaff, DJG, Jake, Sarah, telarium, Metallus, Mercatfat, Narrative, Jamesh, Emma, Lemonhead and, erm, Webmonkey we send a huge thank you to everyone who has stuck around through all the insanity and ugly downtime. Thanks, it's great to be back!

A big thanks to all the winners and bidders of the rare monkey island based Ebay auctions! The total amount for all the items came to around $250 which is astounding!

I have added some more grog bottles because they seemed particlularly popular, and we will add some more rare items very soon! So if you didn't win the Grog bottles and still want to get your hands on some, head on over to Ebay!

The First bottle of EMI grog on Ebay fetched $47 towards the cause, way more than i'd hoped for! I'll be adding a few more of them to ebay this afternoon if i get the time!

As for the rest of the auctions, well you have 10 hours remaining to bid on them! So if you want a Signed copy of EMI or a signed Tim Schafer poster then head on over to ebay.

Yes! The auctions on Ebay are going well, and the current prices should cover almost a month's hosting! - I'll see what else we have lying around that you folks might like.

On a side note, the bottle of grog auction has 10 hours remaining, so if you want it, go bid!

A huge thanks to all the people who have put their bids in so far!

Yes, I have just put the first item up on ebay. an EMI PS2 Press kit, signed by 6 members of the EMI team, including Dominic Armato, Mike Stemmle and Sean Clark. Go check it out, help save Mojo!! Bid on the item!! Remember its for charity (almost)
You have 7 days.

Also, if you decide that this site has provided you with entertainment, amusment or any other services, maybe you will look deep into your heart (and pockets) and consider a donation. I'll work out some kind of reward Scheme or something, plus an anonymous donations account.. but i seriously doubt anyone would bother donating :)

update: I've added a few more items, click on the big Ebay image above to check them out!

Mojo needs some money, for server costs both past and present. One of my current plans is to auction of some of the goodies we have been collecting as prizes. We would start with some signed things and move on to anything ultra rare that we might have. The auctions would be on Ebay, and what i want to know is would any of you be interested? It's kind of like one of those charity auctions! Leave some comments on the subject please!

Mojo hosted site "World of MI sends us word that there is something in the works over there, but wont let anyone know what it is. They've only posted this mysterious jpeg. Whatever it is will be unveiled August 12th. I'm sure LEC Legal is praying it isn't a fangame. Stay tuned to World of Monkey Island!

The Scummbar PS2 contest rages ever onward, and this entry has been brought to my attention. Now we all know I'm a lego fan, but this is... new to say the least. Click here to witness a tale told in lego featuring mojo staff.

After waiting for 4 weeks or so for Jake to make the graphics for this feature, I finally gave up and made some poor ones myself -- but whats more important is that the report of our trip to meet with Tim Schafer (project lead for DOTT, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango) at his new company, Double Fine Productions, is live! We met Tim in San Francisco, where he took us for lunch and stopped us from seeing his new game. However, I assure you that the account is a very worthwhile read!

Mixnmojo, in conjunction with LucasGames and Massassi.net is pleased to announce the opening of GalacticBattles.com, a site dedicated to LEC's upcoming RTS game, Galactic Battlegrounds. You can also head over to the forums and check out the welcome message from Galactic Battlegrounds project leader Gary Gaber. "w00t!"

Over the last few days we have been sent tons of emails with random subjects but with this content:
Hi! How are you?
I send you this file in order to have your advice
See you later. Thanks
Mojo network staff and other folk with mojo email might be recieving it to, and guess what? That attachment has a new virus in it called SirCam. Luckily most of us are not Dumb A***holes and havn't opened the file. But beware....
You can read all about SirCam here.

Shorty after its redesign, Legend of Monkey Island has launched a competition. Yes like many other contests we have been having recently, this one involves the winning of Escape From Monkey Island for the PS2. All you have to do is design a Monkey Island Desktop BG. What are you waiting for?!?!

Whilst we are of course The International House of Mojo, there are other Houses of Mojo out there. and here for your enjoyment is our 'competition':
wooooo you gotta love that last one!

Do you remember the adventurer? it was a little magazine that was distributed in the US with old LucasArts games. Do you have any of them? We want them!

If you have any issues of the Adventurer you might be interested in selling / donating / swapping for stuff, please email me! We are after issues 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, ,10, 13 or higher.

I'm also after old merchandise, (T-shirts, keychains etc) particlulary Day of the Tentacle and full Throttle stuff. - (but anything would be cool) again, to sell to me or trade. Please email me if you can help!

updateIf you dont want to part with adventurers, then a scanned version would be fantastic.

We have finally uploaded our photo gallery from the EMI PS2 release party which we attended last month in San Francisco. We had much fun aboard the good ship Balcutha and you should take a look at everyone being Piratey.

With Mike, Sean, Dom and a whole host of LEC folk, Steel drums, grog and ghost pigs its worth a peek! Thanks for the invitation and all the grog LucasArts peeps, you know who you are!

We have been going through all the fantastic banners that you submitted for the contest. All of them were brilliant, and i'd like to thank everyone who entered for making me laugh!

Anyway, 2 winners have to be announced. Originally the plan was to allow you lot to judge and choose one of the winners, but we cant set up a safe and decent way of doing that because we have a ton of other things to develop right now. So we went ahead and chose both winners ourselves (hope you don't mind!)

You can see the winning entries right here. Thanks again for entering, more contest fun soon.

May I present to you a Walkthrough for the 1988 LucasFilm game Zak Mckracken and the Alien Mindbenders. The walkthrough was written by Mercatfat and was not posted by me for a loooong time. But at last, for those of you who are stuck in this classic game, a light is at the end of the tunnel. you can read it here.
