Continuing "Star Wars Day" here at the Mojo, we have the following tidbit of news: The release poster for Star Wars Episode II is up on starwars.com. To no one's surprise, it looks very similar to the posters for the other 4 Star Wars films. That doesn't mean it's not pretty.

LucasFilm has put out the much anticipated "real" trailer for Star Wars Episode II, and it has been surprisingly well-received. That's right, I drank the Kool-Aid.

Despite the opening shot bearing more than a slight resemblence to Flight of the Navigator, the new trailer has everything you hoped would be in Episode 1: huge explosions, large amounts of fighting, big beat up triangle-shaped ships, and more huge explosions.

Though the other three trailers (yes, three others have been released - over 200 shots from the film have been included so far in the four trailers) were hinting that there was lameness afoot in EPII, it might be hidden by the massive explosions and death that appear to be in store during the rest of the film.

As usual, despite the trailers being on the Internet, you first must be a Lucas Online member (so sign up if you haven't already at starwars.com or lucasarts.com), and to view the highest quality version of the trailer you need to hand Apple your 30 bucks for QuickTime Pro. Though the high quality version isn't released for free officially, you can find mirrors of the file if you look hard enough.

And now, a special preview of LEC's next legal action.

Pelican Accessories, makers of such fine products (Cough) as The Game Station Arcade, are releasing an X-Box controller named "X-wing". While info isn't yet posted on their web site, it's currently being advertised in many gaming magazines, such as this month's Electronic Gaming Monthly (inside back cover, I think).

Pelican accessories and LEC could not be reached for comment, as their main offices are closed at 10:00 PM PST. Amaze.

Expect a lawsuit over intellectual property soon, since LEC has just about every word in the original Star Wars script copyrighted.

Update: I uploaded a scan of the ad in question. Take a Look.

I never thought I'd see the day when there'd be four Chewbacca-Related news posts in four days. This is a snippit from Wednesday's StarWars.Com Classic. It tells the epic tale of the origins behind everybody's favorite wookie. Actually, it's not really epic, and probably not quite a tale, but read it anyway!

"My dog Indiana used to ride on the front seat of my car. He was a big dog, and when he sat there, he was bigger than a person, so I had this image in my mind of this huge furry animal riding with me. That's where the inspiration for Chewbacca came from."

Following from their weekly showings of the original Star Wars trilogy (damn fine films), Sky Premier and Sky Premier Widescreen will next week be showing the UK television premiere of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Despite it being a generally fairly boring film with mediocre actors, it's probably worth a watch for the special effects and pod races, etc. - Saturday night at 20:00.

Something strange overcame me on April 1st... I think my new Windows ME has a brainwashing facility built in... anyway...

Oh, and that thing about Spaff's job - not true - biscuit rations are carefully monitored. Still, send in your applications!

They say a picture can speak a thousand words.
So follow this link and let the pictures speak for themselves.
TheForce.Net has scanned photos from Episode II as featured in the French Official LucasFilm Star Wars magazine.
There is about 20 in all, and they are definetly worth looking at!

The New Episode II select picture has been updated. There's no proof so far but the forums and community are buzzing on what the latest select image may be. The community, and also my opinion, is that this is the child actor Daniel Logan as the young Boba Fett, sitting in the cockpit of Slave 1 at his father Jango Fett and Obi-Wan. What do you think? Feel free post opinions or comments.

Brian Blessed, the famous English actor whose credits include BlackAdder to Richard III, accidently let slip to a eager Star Wars fan that his character from Episode I, Boss Nass, will be returning to Episode II and that his character will have the first line of the movie.
He also said that he will start the film with the word "War" which is ironic considering Episode I finished with Boss Nass getting the last scripted word of "Peace".
Also revealing one of his lines from the film recentley was Temuera Morrison. Morrison, who will play Jango Fett- the father of Boba Fett who will become the genetic template for the Stormtrooper clones in Episode II, told the Melborne magazine "Green Guide" that he will say the line "I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.". We also mentioned that he will have a space combat scene with Obi-Wan through an asteroid field.
All very interesting stuff!

The Official Star Wars website has a new On Location report from Episode II filming is a report with no other then the big cheese himself, George Lucas. He doesn't give away much but it's still interesting little interview.
Even more interesting is a short report, from Lucas's right-hand man, Rick MaCallum. The report, Serious Post Production also has a photo of Ewan McGregor as the new look Obi-Wan Kenodi sporting the new Alec Guiness style beard.

Hello my young padawans! It's Narrative here! Just a update to give you some juicy Star Wars: Episode II details and a quick note about what role in Mixnmojo. I'll be giving all the latest Star Wars and Episode II news for Mixnmojo when it breaks. At the moment my life is very hectic and busy with work and college, but hopefully you'll see me more on IRC and updateing the News over the next few months up to Christmas.

Without further ado, here some Episode II plot details that have been recently un-covered. Please bear in mind that my LucasFilm updates will contain spoilers so you might want to reconfigure your "My Mixnmojo" account if you don't want to read spoilers. Also bear in mind that from time to time, some things reported may not be 100% accurate due to the nature of Episode II news on the internet. Anyway... Some spies for TheForce.net were able to report the following:

Some of the first gripping scenes from Episode II shortly after the opening crawl include an assassination attempt on the life of the Senator of Naboo, M'Lady Padm? Amidala.
A new character to replace Panaka, Captain Typho, is in charge over the protection of the young senator. In the confusion around the attempt on her life, one of her loyal handmaidens named Cord? is killed as she doubled for the Padm?. In a tender scene Padm? holds the young girl in her arms, torn between what she must do and her passion for her people.

The tragic and disturbing news of Senator Amidala of the Naboo system's assassination spreads quickly through the galaxy, resonating in the great halls of the Galactic Senate Chamber.
Apparently the sources of these plot leaks are reliable and from what I've heard so far about Episode II, it is most probably true. Another plot leak is about a new character called Uv Gizen:
Uv Gizen is an aide to the Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and will be seen in Senate sequences with the former representative of Naboo.
Sounds very interesting!
