That’s Bajakian, Land, and McConnell to you.
We knew it existed, and after we dropped some vague threats in the previous GDC video thread, Sushi intervened, and gave us the link to the Monkey Island composers GDC talk: Find it here—I’ll skip the video embed this time, as it doesn’t have much of a shelf life.
This is the good stuff, but you already knew that, and it’s one facet of Return to Monkey Island we haven’t heard too many details about. Until now. And there are tons of 'em. Run and read! (And thanks, Sushi!)

And please, somebody tell me what actor Michael Land reminds me of.

It’s like you don’t even read Mojo.
Oops ;-)
Well, at least I didn‘t miss this video.

Like for example that the theme I've known for decades as "Stan's themes" is actually a reference to a song that already existed in the real world.
It’s like you don’t even read Mojo.
And Land may be right that most gamers might not have noticed the effort of all the endless Woodtick transitions in Monkey 2. While the may be true, also know that those who noticed appreciated it even more so ;-)
I also loved to see how every composer of the trio brought something very special into the game. I loved Bajakian's LeShip music, McConnell's Brr Muda music and Land's Mêlée variations. They managed to create something coherent throughout the game, but also to bring in a personal style. Together, they created the perfect soundtrack.

Does anybody know what Michael Land does with himself when he's not being roped back into score new Monkey Island games? Bajakian and McConnell have been active in scoring other projects over the years, but Land has always seemed like a bit of an enigma!
Both Land and McConnell are listed under Little Big Note Music which looks to be a McConnell joint. If I remember correctly (questionable on the best of days), Land also has a bunch of music/technology parents to his name, so maybe that’s what he spends his days on.
