In their E3-Report Just Adventure + claims to have wiggled some info out of LEC. According to JA+;
LucasArts has not one but two adventure games in development. The LucasArts rep was very cagey about these two games; he did say that one will be a sequel (but he didn't say to what; our loud speculating was met with an utter and complete poker face) and the other will be completely new. He assured us that LucasArts has absolutely no intention of ever (then qualified that to "in the foreseeable future") abandoning the adventure genre. Also, they got Grog.
Keep in mind that this is not official as the E3 mojo-monkeys badgered everyone they met including Simon Jeffery and Mike Stemmle and Sean Clark. Repeat, not official!

LucasFans' webmaster Joonas Linkola has posted a feature/mini-rant, titled "Stop Whining," about fan reactions to this years all Star Wars E3 line-up. "In a vain attempt to correct a few common delusions and false accusations, I've gathered here a list of topics brought up in the discussion." You can read it here.
More on this as we bother LEC about it ;)...
The last E3 announcement panel has cracked away. And lookie here, its for the 17 of may. What a cooincidence, that's the same day as the opening of E3. And Simon Jeffery wants to have an interview with US! Devout adventure supporters. Hmm... could adventures still be in store? Could LEC actually have a (warped) sense of humor to torture us like this? Only time shall tell my friends...

Speaking of LEC fan projects, the eye-catching fan-made Fate of Atlantis "inspired" IndyProject has been updating this week, after a couple months off. The most recent two updates talk about the forthcoming IndyProject demo, which should actually be released sometime in the near future -- for real (yay!), and the progress on some of the scenarios included in the final released project. Again, more at IndyProject.
For the second E3 in a row, LucasArts has announced... Escape From Monkey Island! That's right, your favorite pirate and his wacky pals should be heading to a PlayStation 2 near you this Spring.
Not exciting, you say? Well, as the opening flash animation reminds us, it's not. The PS2 port was announced a while ago, but it seems the all Star Wars parade needed a little breaking up.
From the screenshots, though, it appears they fixed up (made easier) Monkey Kombat, as mentioned in the chat with EMI's Project Leaders. The Giant Monkey Head also appears to be less silver, but this could be attributed to my ever increasing insanity.
The chat is now over and a lot of questions (some pretty biting) were asked, which is not suprising, it being a Q&A and all. LucasArts will likely have a log of the questions up tomorrow if you missed it!
An article posted on Ledgend of MI entitled "LeChuck's Life and Plot Holes of MI4" talks about exactly that. It was pointed out that this was a spoiler.. you should have completed it by now dammit!!! anyways highlight the text to read the quote
In MI4, you find out that Herman Toothrot (the hermit of Monkey Island) is actually Elaine's grandfather! How is this possible? You see, the story about how he got to Monkey Island contradicts the story he told Guybrush in the first game. I've narrowed it down to two possibilities..An interesting read, if rather nit picky.. i'd rather let sleeping dogs.. well you get the idea. Read it here.
In celebration of Mac EMI's near completion, news site games.macnn.com has released two EMI wallpapers made from pieces of in game and promotional art. The wallpapers appear on their resident designer's site, Custer's Corner. Not bad!
For those of you who read Edge Magazine you should already have notices their excellent section at the end of the magazine in this months issue.
The feature? - The Making of 'The Secret of Monkey Island' It features quotes from the man himself - Ron Gilbert and has many could-have-been's and reasons for certain things being in the game.
For instance, did you know Herman Toothrot was added to the game because the Monkey Island section of the game was too boring? - Not enough character intervention !
The Clearly Unofficial EMI Site has done it again! This time it's an interview with Denny Delk, the voice behind Murray from Monkey Island and the tentacles from Day of the Tentacle, among others. Check out the interview here, and the site's previous interviews here!

LucasArts has updated their site with the announcement (as predicted) of EMI for the PlayStation 2. The game, not suprisingly, looks nearly identical to the PC version, except the font used for dialogue, etc has been changed to a bulkier one as to be read easier on TV screens. There are six screenshots at the EMI Product Spotlight page, if you're interested. Here's a bit from the press release:
"For the past 10 years owners of PC's have solely been able to enjoy Monkey Island, one of LucasArts' premier brands," says Tom Byron, director of product marketing for LucasArts. "Escape from Monkey Island gives PlayStation 2 players the chance to be captured by this clever and comical graphic adventure series."
The Great Monkeey Island fan site : World of Monkey Island has gained a domain name. The site can now be accessed from www.worldofmi.com. Great stuff.
FGN Onlone have posted rumours that LucasArts plan to bring EMI to the PSX2
Rumors have emerged suggesting that LucasArts is looking to release Escape From Monkey Island on PlayStation 2.The graphic adventure from LucasArts is apparently in "testing" for a release later this year on PlayStation 2, according to Next Generation magazine.Hmm.. I can't help but fell that if they did this the control method might improve.... did anyone play SMI on the MegaCD ? - That must have been hellish, EMI however would probably work quite well on a console.
No further details were available, but we hope to receive a comment from LucasArts on the rumor soon.

The Clearly Unoffficial EMI site has posted an interview with Waly Wingert. Wally Wingert? You ask!
Wally was the voice of Herman Toothrot in Escape from Monkey Island.
How did you get the part as Herman Toothrot in Escape From Monkey Island (EFMI)?
I auditioned for the role of Herman like everybody else. Darragh O'Farrell, the LucasArts voice director said the thing they really liked about my Herman was his laugh. Herman was interesting because he had several different levels of amnesia. Sometimes he was just completely gone, other times he'd go in and out, and then there's the completely "normal" Herman.
Wally has his own website which you can visit here Thanks to The clearly unofficial emi site for the interview. please note, I'm now going to refer to the site as CUEMI or similar!
Monkey Island 2: Phatt Isand library. We've all gone through the card index laughing at all the amusing book names and authors. but to David Thomsen has taken it one step further, recording all of the book names and authors and also Guybrush's comments on each.
