CC 12: LucasArts in the Middle East 06 Aug, 2011 / 4 comments

The XIIth Cook Chase podcast this week features another guest star: Milkman/John N/A/Nojan from IRAN! We set up a satellite link directly into his cave, where he talked about how LucasArts games are received in the Middle East.

We also launch a new feature ('Getting to Know You'), discuss the new screenshots from Telltale's Walking the Dead (is that what it's called?), and look back on the Back to the Future series. With a perspective from IRAN!

Listen below, or go to our to download a higher quality copy. Thanks to Zaarin for editing it together. The review of BttF Nojan refers to can be found here.

You ought to have listened to MY first podcast, man. There's a reason it was also my last.

    I have, Actually.
Didn't think there was anything wrong with it.
Except the Skype problems which caused you to interrupt SurplusGamer and Udvarnoky, Your grammar and vocabulary and tonality was really good.
If the interruptions problem is why you don't want to get back to podcasts, Then I have to tell you the problem's solved since the way the Cook Chase is done is, Each collaborator records his own microphone input and then Zaarin mixes it all toghether, So, All the interruptions and "sorry, you go ahead"s can be removed.

Also, eh. As an Arab, even I have trouble telling the difference between Arabic and Persian music.

Yeah, The cultures have influenced each other a lot to the point that they're indistinguishable.
    But then nowadays we mostly use santur in our traditional music. Like Shajarian's music. Some examples from Youtube: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5(Violin & Tonbak) - 6 - 7
(I mean that's what me and my generation - the generation of the young Iranians who were born before the revolution devolution - recognize as Persian traditional music.)
    what I gave links to)

    Best Cook Chase ever.

Yeah, well, It could have If it wasn't for That bad laughter of mine around 2:28 and My lame George Lucas joke ...
    ...
and the totally Persian music cue for me. Thanks for finding that and including it guys! I mean It was so Persian that It wasn't at all!
    It was ... Arabic ... :|

    Disclaimer:

1- Rather Dashing, If you've listened to this, By saying "He really mentions *some* very big flaws in the game" I meant "The analysis really mention the huge/big flaws in the game [very well]".
    I was nervous and my sentence structure got screwed up, Just like my grammar in the following parts;
1- I *have* no idea he *is* bald
    2- *The* 3rd episode
3- I just *fall* in love with it
    ... (facepalm)
Well, At least they're not as bad as "All your base belong to us"...

2- About the BttF spoiler, I meant the conflict between Emmet and his Father in the 5th episode, At the Expo. Not the one in the 1st episode.

3- When Gabez asked me to try and say Ron Gilbert in Persian at 2:58, I was so nerveous that I didn't actualy hear him asking that and instead I said my opinion on how Gabez tried to Ron Gilbert as he thought it's pronounced in Persian. I'd make it Persian next time if there's gonna be one.
