Just barely beating out the PC's Clone Campaigns expansion pack, MacNN reports that the Mac version of the original Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds [review] should be in production and shipping in two weeks time. This is good news for those who love Galactic Battlegrounds, or Macs, or both somehow.

DOTTcom has a new section of their site entirely dedicated to Day of the Tentacle and Maniac Mansion add-ons for The Sims. While not all of the pages seem to be working yet, they offer floors, walls, new characters and more for you to toy with.

Now you too can starve Bernard and then set him on fire while Nurse Edna, trapped in a 3x3 tile room with nothing but a coffee pot, soils the floor. Fun!

Hulabee Entertainment, the new children's software company founded by Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert, has released two of its new game titles for purchase. First, there's Moop and Dreadly: The Treasure on Bing Bong Island, a children's adventure game involving pirates and a big, purple... thing. Ollo in the Sunny Valley Fair is another title involving an escaped giant tomato.

Both of these games were written by Dave Grossman, who was heavily involved in such classics as the first two Monkey Island games and Day of the Tentacle. Mac and PC demos are available from Hulabee.com, so go check them out!

Game publishing house Aspyr Media has put up a spotlight site for the Mac edition of Galactic Battlegrounds. They say you'll need a 333 Mhz G3 or G4 to play it. The port's current status is listed as "first playable build" and the estimated release date given is April 2002.

Aspyr also handled the Mac port of Escape From Monkey Island, so hopefully this is a start of a nice trend (*cough*JKII*cough*).

An old friend of mine emailed me out of the blue to point out that I hadn't mentioned the version of ScummVM for pocket PC's. You can now play all your favourite games while commuting or pretending to test pocket PC games at work. I myself would never ever pretend to test a game while playing an entiretly different one... honest guv.

Update: In the tradition of ScummVM threads I'll update to point out that there is also a Macintosh version of ScummVM under development for MacOS X. Apparently there is a second Mac port underway by the author of SCUMM Explorer, but it doesn't have a website. - Jake

Apple has started a new promotion to bundle some new software into currently shipping iMacs. included in the bundle are such titles as Simcity3000, Tombraider the last relevation, Escape From Monkey Island and Star Wars Pit Droids. Pretty interesting to see what Lucas Arts (and Aspyr) have got their marketing guys up to.
