Yet ANOTHER Penny Arcade preview 09 Apr, 2008, 22:12 / 7 comments

This time it's from MacWorld. Read on.

If any publishers out there think that there's so much hype for this game because it's licensed: you're wrong. There's so much hype because its creators have proved themselves to be awesome. Don't go saying we want games based on webcomics, in other words. Because you're wrong.

    Argh... *sob* *sob* *whinge* *moan*

Kroms, for the love of all that is holy and sacred in this world, I love your reporting, but PLEASE (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) mention the actual _title_ of the game the news item is about.

    Thank you.

I don't know. I mean, wow. This is so surprising. Wow. I need to think about this. Do you know how much we'll need to sacrifice? Can you even think of the scandal? Oh boy...well yes. For you, Jason! YES YES YES. A thousand times YES!

I want games based on webcomics. A Dank the Caveman game could be awesome!

God bless you, but imagine what that sound like to a suit?

I don't know, a Caveman sitcom obviously didn't sound too off-the-wall for them.

I meant: "Oh so they want a webcomic with ROCKS." I've found that suits usually misinterpret things. When "300" hit it big the first things I read producers saying were:

    1. People do not want story; they want violence and gore.
    2. People want stories from comics.

What never struck them was that what captivated people was the new look in the movie...and how much hard work had gone into it. Suits are funny.

Considering Dank the Caveman lives at Telltale, why would a game be pitched to "the suits".

Also there was a rendered Dank on the Telltale computers in a photo posted in an article on one of the Marin / San Rafael newspapers way back before even Bone was announced.
