It was a fight to the end, but you have spoken, and we now know the games the majority of you like! Some predictable results, some surprising ones, and… Well, go read for yourself!
The whole list will be published in a later article, and yes, we will do a poll with proper scoring, too. Your whining was heard. ;

I have to admit I'm slightly amused about how we're all still pissy about Escape from Monkey Island. Some things never change.
I do want to add that these days I see that game more as an interesting oddity rather than the crime against humanity I thought it was in my younger, wilder days. I guess I've grown soft with age (but not where it counts buddy!).
But could you bring yourself to play through it again now?
I actually just played EMI again recently with ResidualVM and I think I prefer it to Tales. It was the first game in the series I played, and when I found out how most people disliked it I was pretty surprised. Granted it's not the best in the series but it was what led me to get all the other games back in the day.

Escape from Monkey Island is to me like The Force Awakens is in Star Wars. Clearly the worst in the series.
Now this is a poll we should have. Clearly that's Attack of the Clones!
Without that, then probably not. I actually did play through it again when Escape from Monkey Island support was improved in ResidualVM during the Google Summer of Code. But, I really don't feel like playing through Monkey Kombat again.

Where's The Dig?
I don't think Broken Age is better that The Dig....
I feel like Broken Age has more replayablility than The Dig. It was fun to play through, and the storyline was interesting, but it's a lot drier than the other adventure games from LucasArts and their alumni. Most of the games on the list are those that don't take themselves too seriously, which lends more towards making you want to play them again than the more serious stuff does.

I was actually thinking about running through 3 and 4 again for a while now! But yes, I doubt I'd get all the way through it. I don't suddenly think it's a good game, but I think of it like the Star Wars prequels. They're really, really bad, but I don't think they ruin the Original Trilogy, and I've laughed/complained so much about them over the years that I think I've just gotten it all out of my system. They're just weird movies that I don't have to watch ever again now. That pretty much exactly translates to my opinion on Monkey 4 as well.
Also I think Tales of Monkey Island made the series (probably) close out on a less bitter note compared to the years when 4 was the end. I'm at peace with it now. I have become Herman Toothrot.
