We hit you because we love you 19 Aug, 2008 / Comments: 15

Our very own Zaarin was browsing through his favorite Norwegian gaming web site, where he found this interview with Dan Connors from Telltale. It's a good read, I'm sure, if you understand the language.

One quote that some of your favorite Mojoers found interesting, reads, (and is translated obviously,) "We like the net community around the franchise, the same way we also love the Sam & Max comunity or the Mix'n Mojo community." (Emphasis added.)

Awww. And to think this comes from Telltale, that actively removed our link from their Friends section! But hey, that's probably part of their special kind of love.

Are you guys getting this comments page completely screwed up? Mojo itself is fine, it's just this page - it's only one column!

Er... did you wait for the page to finish loading?

I *think* there was an issue with the forums or something yesterday, that meant it took forever for the right column to display.

I removed your link because the RSS feed kept breaking :p
  • Zaarin on 19 Aug, 2008, 20:39…
The feed is fine according to W3C's validator. There were a couple of compatibility issues which I fixed now, but nothing crashable. There's one issue left that complains about tags in the which I suspect is caused by the youtube video further down.

At the time, it was belching out sql errors if I recall correctly. Anyway, I've re-added it.

Was this in February? It just occurred to me that... somebody ¬ ¬.... mucked up the database when I was out of the country.

Hey, that bit wasn't me. I just mucked up the database for the hosted sites. Poor Pumpkin Post. :(

Anyway, what also happened that month was that the server went through an upgrade and the login info for the DB changed. No one remembered to also update the RSS creator and so we got many an SQL error.

I'd be interested in what was breaking for you, as the last time I can remember having an issue with it was... A year ago? Possibly a bit less? Anyway, I can't recall seeing any recent issues with it.

The RSS is apparently extremely slow, at least, since this story is still listed as the most recent in the feed.
  • Zaarin on 21 Aug, 2008, 11:20…
Well, this is the latest news post since the next one is just an old post pushed to the top and updated.

I did change the RSS feed now though so that it orders news based on latest update instead of ID. Probably more logical as well. :)

    Zaarin will sort that out right away. ;

I'm sure our Strongbad review just fell off their blog list by accident. ;~

They've obviously got commitment issues. Time to call in Dr. Phil!

It's just a sign of tough love, the only real love there is.
