    Heh.

His kids are just like his games at LucasArts, they were outsourced.
  • Capn_Nacho on 17 Aug, 2009, 04:50…
It's interesting that he fails to mention the conditions under which he stepped down from his post at "Lucasfilm". Interesting, too, that he is listed as having "created" all the successful games developed during that time: popular titles like "Star Wars Lego". Come on, man.

Even funnier that the original SW LEGO game was published by Eidos, and only after its runaway success did LucasArts insist on/bother with publishing the sequels.

Can't even spell the name of his former company - there's the intelligence that's been sorely lacking in the Republican Party.
  • neon_git on 17 Aug, 2009, 07:28…
You know he joined LucasArts from Lucasfilm right?
  • jp-30 on 17 Aug, 2009, 09:37…
lincolnlobster may have, not so sure about Capn_Nacho.
  • Capn_Nacho on 19 Aug, 2009, 19:12…
    I BLEW IT
  • Capn_Nacho on 19 Aug, 2009, 19:14…
That is to say, no, I didn't realize that until I read the description a bit more thoroughly the other night. My bad.
  • lincolnlobster on 18 Aug, 2009, 05:03…
    He spelled Lucasfilm "Luscasfilm"
  • tfarr on 17 Aug, 2009, 03:09…
lol I figured him as a Republican. I wonder if he's as wacky as Sarah Palin. Won't be long before he's calling the Bill of Rights "embarrassing baggage" and he'll work to do away with it.
  • Glo_kidd on 17 Aug, 2009, 01:03…
    Totally not suprised that:
    A: He's a Republican
    B: Hes against government healthcare
    and
C: He's getting campaign tips from Newt Gingrich

Also not sure if the facebook page was the best choice... there already seems to be some hate mail related to his time at lucasarts

Oh well, there goes the hopes that he would fade away into obscurity, i guess there always a chance for a crushing electoral defeat.
  • Glo_kidd on 17 Aug, 2009, 18:14…
Oh and the hate mail was deleted today...

Just like a Republican to suppress freedom of speech, amirtite? lol
  • Capn_Nacho on 17 Aug, 2009, 18:42…
Yeah, I don't know if you noticed my carefully-worded message before it got deleted (my name is Jory Griffis) but I respectfully commented upon the "truthiness" of his website vis-à-vis his time at "Lucasfilm".

    What a dummy.
  • MrSneeze on 17 Aug, 2009, 03:46…
I thank my parents for not calling me Newt.
  • jp-30 on 17 Aug, 2009, 03:57…
Well, his full name's Newton which is much better than its shortened form, you'd think.
  • MrSneeze on 17 Aug, 2009, 17:30…
    Indeed.
  • clone2727 on 16 Aug, 2009, 23:44…
Can't we just have a Jim Ward category already? :P
  • neon_git on 16 Aug, 2009, 23:19…
So Jim is opposed to "Change that prevents government from coming between all of us and our freedoms so that we can build the best solutions for education on a local basis."

Hmmm. Sounds like code for "Creationism should be taught in schools."
  • The Tingler on 17 Aug, 2009, 08:06…
I'm not even sure I know what that sentence means (his, not yours). The government should never be allowed to come between us and our freedom, unless we've broken the law.
  • neon_git on 17 Aug, 2009, 11:31…
Oh crap. When I said "opposed to" I meant "in favour of"
  • neon_git on 17 Aug, 2009, 09:52…
But the government gets to write the laws. All laws restrict our freedom to some degree, it's all about finding a balance.

The trouble with Jim's statements is that they're so vague they could mean literally anything - does he, for exapmle, think people should be free to drive a car without a license?
  • Capn_Nacho on 17 Aug, 2009, 18:39…
I think he's trying to assume a conservatively libertarian viewpoint, but he's making an awful, inconsistent mess of it. Presumably, he's talking about less-restrictive taxes and the "freedom" for corporate healthcare providers to work without competition from a government alternative, similar to most republican figures. I'm willing to bet you're right about the "creation in schools" bit, too.

It's funny; I had allowed Mr. Ward to disappear from my thoughts with an air of dignified forgiveness, and he rises up again with political viewpoints completely opposite my own and a hideously formatted, fictionalized campaign site.
