It's here! The thing you didn't know you've been waiting 30 years for. Previously unseen artwork, deleted scenes, and insights from The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2! Not to mention a two-hour interview with Ron Gilbert where he reveals, amongst other things, some of his original plans for Monkey Island 3.

It's literally the same video that was streamed, so nothing has been edited out or changed. It's at 4.25am.
Ron revealed that: The third game would take place in Hell. And that LeChuck would take three forms across the trilogy: Ghost, Zombie and Demon. He also revealed that he didn't have much planned beyond that.
Which means the following can be inferred: Guybrush was indeed Guybrush, and LeChuck was indeed LeChuck -- NOT A LITTLE KID. There is no long lost designed masterpiece that we never got to see. Ron had a vague idea that Guybrush would go to Hell and confront the Demon Pirate LeChuck. MI3 was not about to be set in an amusement park, and Guybrush wasn't about to continue his life as a little kid.
It's the first time Ron opened up about it, to my knowledge, and it blew my mind. Even though it was only a minute that Frank didn't follow up on...
this summary is dramatically more accurate than my previous one.
Its very cool to have a general idea of where he would have gone and the door this opens for speculation may keep us all writing fanfic for another decade or so.
I wonder if he would have ended up going the tomi route with the voodoo lady twist? that was one the biggest part of those games impact on the series and I would love to know where the go with it. by the end she had a very "Theresa in the Fable series" feel...
Speculation is fun, when there is an absence of new content theoretical content will have to suffice
... I just want new stories
All of this Nostalgia has made me very nostalgic lol, 10-11 years is quite the drought.

When this stream got reported upon initially, this site said that Ron revealed his original plans for MI3, but that's not in this edited video! I can only assume that it was edited out for some stupid reason?

I believe it was still in there but it honestly was a throwaway topic with about a minute of conversation about it.
Basically he said the premise would be Guybrush goes to hell and said it would have been very similar to what telltale did in tales ep 5.
Also, Frank Cifaldi totally sounded like Guybrush when he said "Elaine" at 3:53:26 :O

I would love to play with those SCUMM tools, too. Amazing that we got to see them at all!
Hopefully one day they will be made available or someone can reverse engineer them to make like a fan-scumm studio or something. lofty hope im sure but would be a blast to tinker with
is it bad that I just want a directors cut with all the shown cut content back in both titles mo matter how it effects tone lol :-) give me my unnecessary gory jungle path entrance to the peaceful vegetarian cannibal village, we will just say the ghost pirates were being jerks or something haha
