Tripping out at ECTS 25 Aug, 2002 / Comments: 18

Right then. Once again It's time for the lower class, European equivalent of E3. Next week from Thursday to saturday, all the greatest games companies poor suckers who are based in the UK will be showing their wares off at Earls Court.

I shall be heading on over there on the thursday afternoon with our resident writer Lemonhead, and meeting up with AdventureGamers' own Marek Bronstring. If you are going to be about and want to meet up with us for the afternoon email me.

Please someone tell me, what the hell am I doing in America? I was happy when I lived in Europe, even though there was this whole "country led by a mafia don" thing happening -- it was more fun than this place that Gods have forgotten...

And there is a bar in the trade show anyway, so drinking is high on my agenda. Drinking and playing some terrible pre-release games. What more could you want?

The public can't attend ECTS this year! That's untrue. They can only attend the Playstation Experience, not the Trade Show.

booze = no unless you get to go to a party OR the hooligans stand is there again.. which is doubtful seeing as the game is out now.

their stand was a pub.. and you got free pints if you talked to them about the game.

    ECTS is pretty lame....
but there is fun to be had :) and its a good excuse for you to come and get drunk with me and marek.

Theres that whole sony thing there aswell.. god knows what thats all about...

Bleugh... My managers got to go and laze around at the trade show, and I got to sell PS2's all day (I work in a Game store...). Although, I hear Nintendo were hidden away in some tiny little section. :) (And, yes, I know I'm a bit late replying to this... but, I haven't been online in weeks, and I was getting Mojo withdrawal...)

Meh. I would go but I have a severe lack of cash (until Friday) and I have to work. :(

ECTS has been going downhill in the past few years. Hence why they've decided to let the lowly public attend this year.
Oh and did you say Free Booze?
  • Marek on 25 Aug, 2002, 04:40…
I will be there for the free booze and food to check out the games as well! Hurrah!
  • Jake on 25 Aug, 2002, 11:31…
They serve free booze at ECTS? Perhaps not inferior to E3.
  • telarium on 26 Aug, 2002, 07:06…
Yeah, and after all, we did get free booze from LucasArts at E3 2001! Erm, I mean, only those members of our group who were 21 were able to get the free promotional grog. Yes.
  • Emma on 26 Aug, 2002, 15:05…
Were any of us actually 21 when we went to E3 last year? :)
  • spaff on 26 Aug, 2002, 15:51…
    ssshhhhhh (no)
  • Emma on 27 Aug, 2002, 10:13…
It shouldn't matter, Spaff. We're Brits, anyway. ;)
  • Marek on 25 Aug, 2002, 15:31…
Oh yes! Free booze before, during, and after ECTS. And best of all: drinking age 18 :D
