Trip to LucasArts 20 Jun, 2001 / Comments: 20

We were slow to get it up, but our report on the trip to LucasArts and the Ranch from a week or so ago has been uploaded. There are 2 glorious pages of report accompanied by over 50 photographs for your viewing pleasure. (side note: there wasn't a great deal of room for comments on each photo, so ALT tags will provide you with descriptions of photos.) I hope you enjoy the read.

Coming soon we have: The EMI PS2 Release party, a PS2 contest and a report on our trip to meet with Tim Schafer at Double Fine Productions.

No, no, NO! "A Maldicao da Ilha dos Macacos" is "Curse of Monkey Island" in PORTUGUESE, not Spanish. That picture is from the Brazilian box cover. Very cool article, though. ;)

NO, I can't take it anymore. DIE DIE DIE!!!!

J/k, very cool article :) What's that weird triangular DOTT box tho' ?
  • telarium on 20 Jun, 2001, 18:44…
I actually remember those. When the CD-ROM "talkie" version of DOTT came out, they had both the normal boxes and those triangular ones. I ordered mine directly from LucasArts when it came out, hoping I'd get a triangular box... but alas, nothing but normal.
  • spaff on 20 Jun, 2001, 18:59…
Apparently the first copule hundred or first thousand dott boxes were triangle but retailers complained a ton since they didn't stack on shelves properly. I think they lasted longer in Japan too.
  • QueZTone on 20 Jun, 2001, 19:22…
hehe first one whines to remove them from the stack and then one whines even harder to get them back ;)

yeah looked very....strange in a nice way ;P just like the long rectangular box of Full Throttle i saw on a pic there =] (VollGas, hehe i remember how much it cracked me up when i first saw it in a german store with that name, germans need to translate EVERYTHING ;))
  • spaff on 20 Jun, 2001, 20:22…
apparently "full throttle" sounds too much like something to do with being stupid in German or something hehe, atleast thats what Tim said.. and Tim is the man.
  • QueZTone on 20 Jun, 2001, 21:04…
ahh okies (i also remember C&C Red Alert being "Rott Alarm" in germany LOL!) :) yeah Tim definitly is the man :) you're lucky to meet all of our heroes :) good thing write those articles so we can snack along a little :) muchos appreciated =]
