The Wait Is Over 06 Oct, 2008 / Comments: 26

Well, the wait will be on October 21 when LucasArts and BioWare formally unveil the gaming world's worst kept secret.

The Wait Is Over

From the teaser postcard sent to a bunch of Game Sites (not including Mojo, one assumes) it is fairly obvious we're in store for a Loom MMO.

    Yeah well...fuck MMO.

    We don't actually know for certain it's an MMO. This is interesting in the use of the word "component";;

"In an interview at E3 this week, Electronic Arts chief executive John Riccitiello said that EA is working on the next version of Star Wars game Knights of the Old Republic, and it will most certainly have a massively multiplayer online component to it."

Of course the rest of the article makes it sound like the usual MMO.

Yeah I'd REALLY prefer if it has a single player game too...I'm not into MMOs at all.

Thank you LucasArts. I didn't even know I was waiting, but now I have to wait two weeks until the wait is over. Before I saw your flimsy postcard I wasn't waiting at all.

The wait isn't over. The wait has begun!

    I LMAO'd. Unabashedly.

LucasArts have claimed all along that the game they're making with Bioware it's not a Star Wars / KOTOR title.

    Here. And here.

So, the Loom things not as silly as you might think. That, or LucasArts a bunch of big old stinking liars.

Unless the game's title is "The Wait Is Over" I think it could only mean either a Star Wars or an Indiana Jones game. Noone ever waits for anything else, do they?

The Bioware fan in me says "yay" but the LucasArts fan in me says "nay"

The LucasArts fan in me packed his bags and left many years ago. I rented the vacant space out to a Blizzard fan who spends most of his time playing WoW and complaining about a leak in the roof every time I have a drink.

Wow! I just realised that I've been waiting all this time! Thanks LucasArts for telling me it's over! I couldn't have done it without you.

Unless the game is actually launched on Oct 21 as well as being officially revealed, I think there will still be more waiting in store.
  • MrSneeze on 07 Oct, 2008, 09:29…
D'oh! I was fooled! I HATE YOU LUCASARTS! I THOUGHT THE WAIT WAS OVER!
  • jp-30 on 07 Oct, 2008, 10:11…
    Well, maybe it is!?

Unless you count the days between now and the 21st.
  • MrSneeze on 07 Oct, 2008, 11:36…
But we just said... nevermind... :(
  • Diduz on 06 Oct, 2008, 22:44…
    What "wait"?
  • jp-30 on 06 Oct, 2008, 22:51…
The wait for them to tell the world what they've known for a year or so, I guess.
  • Kroms on 06 Oct, 2008, 23:47…
That last line drew the biggest grin possible on my possible, both in the comments and the post.
  • jp-30 on 06 Oct, 2008, 23:58…
Of course it could be a standard Loom RPG rather than MMOG.

    :p
  • Kroms on 06 Oct, 2008, 23:47…
I mean face. On my face.
  • Dalixam on 07 Oct, 2008, 11:58…
You're kinky. I like it. It will be on your face as requested.
  • clone2727 on 06 Oct, 2008, 22:38…
That would be awesome! Using spells on the other people... using unmaking would be kind of cheap though :P
  • Giygas on 06 Oct, 2008, 23:03…
It would only be good if Brian Moriarty was working on it.
  • clone2727 on 06 Oct, 2008, 23:34…
    Maybe he is...
  • Giygas on 06 Oct, 2008, 23:41…
    OH SNAP!
  • valkian on 07 Oct, 2008, 01:35…
    KAZZAM!
