Staff of Kings gameplay footage and non-horrible screenshots released 25 Mar, 2009, 02:30 / 8 comments

Hey, guess what? Yahoo! Games is hosting an exclusive gameplay trailer (the first) as well as some new screenshots for Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. While not mindblowing, you'll be relieved that it looks a whole lot better than all previous glimpses, noticeably lacking that terrible blurry look we've seen in all the earlier Wii screenshots, which apparently (and thankfully) were not actually representative of how the game actually looks. (Given the vast difference in sharpness, I suspect some tomfoolery with the capture method of the first screenshots.)

While we still don't have much indication - either positively or negative - of how well the game will actually play, or even if it's any good at all, we can at least take comfort knowing that those earlier screens were vastly inaccurate. Vastly.

http://www.lucasarts.com/indy has a few aditional screen shots also, and the ones from the Yahoo preview.

But I'm sure you clever news sleuths already knew that.

Maybe I'm getting old, but the only thing that impressed me was that the visuals aren't blurry anymore. The storyline and the puzzles seemed not even worth mentioning for the creators, so I think I'll pass on this game.

They made separate backstages for each aspect of TFU. This may be the case.

Looks very promising, I'm still hoping the Wii version is truly it's own version and not a port of the PS2 version.

The designs of the health bar, etc, are still pretty lame, but the screens do look much better.

Interesting. If you click on those screenshots, the first one you get looks just like the first hideous screenshots - but then you click 'see full size' and they look great again!

    Seems decent.
I like the idea they're doing minibackstages, they DO care a bit about the game, after all.
