Sok Skans 17 Feb, 2009, 13:01 / 11 comments

Thanks to EvilDevo at TheRaider.net's forum, the official preview of Indy Sok is now scanned and available online in a readable resolution.

There's not that much new information barring how the controls are going to work, but it does strongly hint about the identity of the co-op character on the last page.
"... fans of the franchise can look forward to some senior moments."
Henry Jones Snr perhaps? If so, what LucasArts said about him never being playable before is wrong - Indy's dad was playable in both Last Crusade AND Lego Indy.

For ease of viewing, I've stuck the scans up at IndyJones.net's Previews page.

Although I'm speaking as a citizen of the ol' US of A, I've got to posit:

What the hell is up with these American game articles and being terribly written? Man, these guys have the most inept senses of humor I've ever seen in print, and the structure of the preview is really awkward.

    Am I expecting too much?

I stopped reading most mainstream game websites when I was 14, when I switched to Eurogamer. The articles are pretty good there...well, they used to be better when Tom Bramwell and Kristan Reed were writing. Just check-out their review of Half-Life 2 or MGS3, they're excellent.

Not that I'm saying that EG isn't a mainstream site, it is (now more than ever), but at least it's got some dignity.

Hmmm... I'm actually looking more forward to this game.
The interactivity with the environment seems to make up for the graphics, which I think will look a lot better when in motion.

I imagine and hope so, there.

Maybe the "senior" bit hints at Indy's grandad or at flashforwards to an old Indy with an eyepatch like in the Young Indiand Jones series.

Seriously, how the fuck does anyone navigate that forum? Bleugh.

I'm still taking a "wait and see" approach to the game. I'm not expecting much from the gameplay, but if the story is good I'll probably buy it.

You have to change the default view to 'linear' to make any sense of the Raven forum.

I'm starting to like this game.
Unfortunately, nobody says anything official about the PS2 version.

Same with the DS and PSP versions. Hopefully we should be seeing more soon, but apart from the controls (and lack of FOA) the PS2 version should be much the same.
