Semi-relevant poll at Lucasarts.com 19 Jan, 2006 / Comments: 17

Even if it's worth mentioning for no other reason than because it's been centuries since anything not Star Wars related has appeared on the LucasArts web site, it might interest you to check out this week's member poll. Why? Because it asks what your favorite "classic" LucasArts game is, with choices such as RTX, Wrath Warth Unleased, and a few of those adorable adventure games, too. Go vote so you can support some pathetic hope that the results will elicit something other than sarcastic pity from LucasArts management.

    I have voted for CMI

Of course Lucasarts didn't place any old Star Wars game... they knew we would all vote for adventure games and the star wars game would have been last!

Funny that the three adventure games included take the first three places in the poll (with CMI more than double the 2nd most popular choice).

Really confirms LucasArts' "there's currently no market for adventure games" philosphy.

Hey, I'm really glad to see that the three first games are adventure games!
Personaly, I've voted for "Full Throttle". ;)

    I don't really replay adventure games ;|

Well it's good to see that CMI is winning, though why they had that instead of EMI or just "the Monkey Island series" is beyond me.

It seems they may have heard our dismay over Escape from Monkey Island...

And I wonder who had to tell the poll creator to NOT put Sam and Max on it.

I'm not voting for an adventure game - especially not Grim Fandango.

If there are enough votes in this, the higher ups will probably want to make a quick buck by sequelizing it, and make the sequel a first person shooter or something. :/

Dang, that thought just occurred to me, too.

Oh well. I voted for Full Throttle; I'd be really surprised if they tried to screw that up again. (And if they do, please don't kill me.)

To think this will impact LEC's future product decisions seems a bit blue-eyes to me.
  • TyraaRane on 19 Jan, 2006, 17:38…
True. I'm still a little curious as to why LucasArts suddenly remembered something other than Star Wars, though.

Isn't it obvious? They're luring their former adventure game fans to the Dark Side.
  • Thriftweed on 19 Jan, 2006, 15:23…
Vote for CMI, then it might enter their tiny heads that there still is a big fan-base out there hiding away. Then when they do realize, they will probably instantly forget.

Much as I like CMI I find it kind of weep-worthy that it's beating Grim. I am glad, however, that Armed and Dangerous is getting some love.

And 2% for RTX? That must have been everyone (minus me) that played the game.
  • elTee on 19 Jan, 2006, 13:06…
No come on, let's vote for RTX to win!
  • Jayel on 19 Jan, 2006, 06:26…
it takes all of my self-control to refrain from voting on one of those things.
  • Udvarnoky on 19 Jan, 2006, 05:24…
Come on, guys! Together we can push RTX to at least second-to-last place!
