SWON: "Star Wars Over Normandy?" 25 Nov, 2003, 21:35 / 3 comments

According to a release LucasArts just sent out, people who beat all of Secret Weapons Over Normandy's Campaign missions will be able to fly both X-Wings and TIE Fighters in the game's Instant Action mode (Although not both at the same time, unless you're very coordinated indeed). People with consoles also get to use them in multiplayer games. No word yet on the comparative firepower of a WWII-era fighter and a blaster-armed X-Wing.

PLEASE let this be a precursor to Larry Holland & TG producing a new Star Wars flight sim. A clone wars one would be cool what with the space battles glimpsed in the cartoon, after all there're only so many TIE's & X-Wings you can shoot down...

I also caught a Star Wars reference in the game yestreday. One of your copilots says, "Keep your distance, but don't look like you're keeping your distance. Just fly casual."

Reminded me of the good ol' days of Star Wars referencing in LucasArts games.
