SWON: So Totally Reviewed 30 Dec, 2003 / Comments: 11

As usual, we're late. A few weeks ago Metallus reviewed Secret Weapons Over Normandy, but it took us this long to publish it. Sorry. Most people have probably already made up their minds about the game, but I know there are a couple SWON addicts in the audience who just want to hear a bunch of good things about their current obsession. Enjoy.

That was a pretty good review, Metallus!

I really wanted to get this game, I always expected (albeit naively) Rogue Squadron with bi-planes. Then the cube version was canned :/

One day I'll own a system I can play it on I suppose, so I await that day eagerly.

There's a biplane in SWON. It's crap though.

Who the hell is this 8-year-old David Eggers??? Sounds like a fake name to me.

I assure you it's Metallus. His real name is somehow David Eggers.

SWON is a quality game, its just damm good fun to play. I'm not that far in yet so I dont know about the difficulty but so far its an excellent game.

    Great review Metster

"My only real gripe with the gameplay is that it seems like the level of difficulty between missions varies a great deal."

I agree. Some of the missions would alternate between fairly easy to insanely hard. But for the most part, I like.

    (And the music rules)

Totally Games did exactly the same thing with X-Wing Alliance, but apparently the curve got easier as the game progressed... not that I ever got that far :(

SWON sounds like it might be a return to the less-complicated/more-fun of their earlier games... X-Wing Alliance was insanely complicated (if you wanted to be any good at it, that is :)

Hmmm. Was I seeing double a moment ago, or was this posted twice?
