Rogue Leaders author tells all 10 Dec, 2008 / Comments: 6

As pointed out on the forums by Darth Moeller, GameCyte has published an epic interview with Rob Smith, who put together the very-soon-to-be-released Rogue Leaders LEC artbook we've been swooning over for months.

As someone whose job has recently been to immerse himself in LEC history, and as a longtime gamer who's been enjoying their games since the late 80s, Smith has a lot of educated and balanced insight to share about the company, including his take on its current state and eras that have preceded it. Read it, or at least check out the art scattered throughout. Let's hope this sucker starts showing up at bookstores I go to.

This article made me realize that Rob Smith was once the EIC of PC Gamer US... back when it wasn't total shit. I'm assuming his presence there had some positive influence on that.

Did anyone go to he launch party thing? What was it like?

I went. It was fairly low key, but cool. Quite a few quality prints from old LEC artwork... including poster-sized box art. The only other thing of interest I remember seeing was Purcell's pencil sketch of the MI1 box art.

The only person there I recognized (other than the people I cam with) was Tim Schafer. Oh, and the enchiladas were pretty good!

So, they DID use my posters-prints... at least now I can be sure, that LucasArts knows about them.
