Our own Andrew "telarium" Langley has reviewed LucasArts' recently released Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Is it any good? Well, that depends. Do you like games that are fun and engrossing, or games that are amusing for a while but rapidly become uninteresting, then painful? Give it a read. Disagree with Andrew? Leave a comment.

    While playing I noticed how much this game felt like Battlezone, only to find out it was made by the same people (And by the same engine) as BZ. It really didn't surprise me to see this was a strategy-less clone of Battlezone for Star Wars, just like Galactic Battlegrounds was just a high-priced, high-detail Star Wars mod of Age of Empires II.

    I actually haven't played that one. So The Clone Wars is, in itself, a clone of Battlezone? Oh the irony.

    No RTS elements?!! *sigh*

    I guess maybe I was just hoping for a StarWars version of Battlezone 2. Which for this purpose, seems much better equiped than StarWars: Galatic Battlegrounds.

    But, I suppose, maybe that could just be partially because I didn't really like Age Of Empires, and did like BattleZone 2.

    Oh well. Not like I have a GameCube anyway.

    Haven't played either Bounty Hunter or Clone Wars myself, but I saw that EW called Clone Wars the better game of the two.

    Bounty Hunter seemed far more enjoyable to me than The Clone Wars at E3, though I could see how someone who likes certain flight shooters could really like The Clone Wars.

    That's a depressing thought. Although, from my impressions during our hands-on time with the game last July, I really don't see how Bounty Hunter could be less polished and less entertaining than The Clone Wars.

    But I suppose it's possible. The Clone Wars also looked kinda fun at E3 and the press event. We'll have to wait and see.
