"PC not for the chop", Suey 12 May, 2008, 20:45 / 16 comments

In an interview on videogamer.com, STFU (360, PS3) producer Cameron Suey, explains why PC users were ignored on this release, and that LukickAss isn't abandoning the platform.
VideoGamer.com: Do you guys have any message to your PC-owning fans, because you guys have a heritage on PC?

CS: Absolutely. We started on the PC. Unfortunately that goes back to the point of such a variance of the platform. There wasn't such a variance at that time and it made a lot more sense to develop on PC. The message is that we're not shutting the door on PC at all. Just for this project it happens to be that we don't have a PC SKU. I really hope that everyone can experience this game on a platform eventually.

VideoGamer.com: Might there be a PC version in the future?

CS: No.

    God I hate Lucas.

    Just the Lucasanything in general.

I actually have super low expectations for the new Indy movie too.

I mean, they (granted it was Lucas not Speilberg) managed to fuck up all 3 SW prequals. How the fuck do you fuck up 3 movies, and expecially movies where the fans make their voice heard on just about every possible subject that has to do with the movies.

The company is just a failure, in movies and in games, and the sad thing is, they own great licenses that people love, so they will just keep fucking them up and raping them, and people will just keep on buying them.

    It's Spielberg. SP*IE*LBERG!!!

I'm hoping that as long as Lucas isn't involved in the script OR directing people, it'll be good.

This year we're going to have a good "Best Title" poll, I can feel it already.

Dunno...I´m kinda sick of Lucas Star Wars games. I think in 20 years from now they will still make SW games with the son of the son of the grandson of Luke Skywalker in some weird plot. At the strange think that people will still buy them.

"... someone with a low-end PC would have a watered down experience, they would have to turn all the settings down and it wouldn't be the same game."

Um... it's coming out for the freakin' PS2! Honestly, there are some really deeper issues here than "the PC is too varied a platform".

I can cope with TFU on consoles. But if the next Indy game doesn't come out on PC, then I'll be pissed.

I would guess that it is not.
  • jp-30 on 12 May, 2008, 22:49…
Yeah, he makes it seem like it's the Havoc/Euphoria systems that are allegedly preventing the TFU PC port, and the same engine components are supposedly being used for Indy 2015, so...
  • The Tingler on 13 May, 2008, 12:01…
On the other hand, outrage from this debacle and PCs being more generally more sophisticated in 2015 might persuade them otherwise.

Waht's a PC SKU? Short for PC school?
  • jp-30 on 12 May, 2008, 21:33…
SKU is an acronym for Stock Keeping Unit. In this context it just means a single product or item.

    Is this the new LucasArts mantra;

"Make it right and do it right."

Sounds like a Wardism to me.
  • Kroms on 12 May, 2008, 20:52…
Oh wow. That made me laugh evily a lot.
  • Udvarnoky on 12 May, 2008, 20:46…
    No.
