ToMI was "Ok". It was very Tell Tales-ey. And their games aren't amazing, and they do seem monotonous if you play enough of them. MI was never monotonous, so their story telling style left me a bit ho-hum, if I'm honest. Every old lucas game (and new game) they've made just doesn't have the same spark. Its nice that they tried to bring them back, but I'd much rather DubFine make more MI. Altar to Tim, right here.

I wouldn't mind them doing CMI again to be honest, the art style that they had in MI2 was the highest the series ever reached, and I think that the darker style suited the games, although I wouldn't mind either for a remastered edition which expanded the backgrounds to to higher resolutions. I also wouldn't mind a proper MI3 with Gilbert as lead writer and Schafer doing a lot of the dialogue.

After EMI, really, it would be hard for a new Monkey Island to be that disappointing... I probably also would've sulked about TMI like a fanbaby without that perspective. And I liked TMI, so, sure, I'd be up for another sequel.

Jake constantly tells me about how they put their Guybrush model in the Jurassic Park jungle, with all it's new features for the engine, and it looked awesome.

That, and the fact that I LOVE "Tales" is enough reason for me to want a second season RIGHT NOW!!!

I'd just love to see another Monkey Island 3, that's what really matters to me. But I'd be happy if Telltale made a second season of Tales too, but it should be conclusive and not leave cliffhangers. It's the last sequel that is needed, stop sequels after that. Just bring me Monkey 3 by Ron.

I think there's always room for more Monkey Island so I'm certainly not of the mind that it should be retired, but I also think the considerable interval between installments has been healthy and has helped keep every entry of this beloved franchise special.

Mind you, I think there was a really good and lamentably lost opportunity for Telltale to hit the franchise again immediately after Tales (Monkey Island 2 proved that a one-two punch built by the same team can yield magical results), but since that ship has sailed I'm okay with the next sequel taking awhile to find its way onto a worthy studio's plate. It's only been three years since TMI and at its worst the wait between this series' installments has been ten years, so it's too early to start feeling too entitled.

What's needed in the short-term are re-releases. Not necessarily more Special Editions, but the availability of all the games. There's really no excuse for CMI and EMI being out of circulation.

I don't want another one from Telltale until they give their engine a significant overhaul, and find a way of spending more time on animation, and maybe go for a release schedule more like The Walking Dead. The idea of a new Monkey Island game in an engine that runs without problems, with good lighting and lovely animations appeals to me, though. Maybe with the success of The Walking Dead they'll be able to do some of that.

I'd love to see the continuation of Tales, especially with the cliff-hanger ending, but I think it's best if the series is kept in storage for a little while. I'm not a big fan of sequels, but mostly for the fact that they come out too fast and lead to oversaturation. We're already at the fifth game in the series since 1990, which at this point averages out to about one game every four years. I'm probably in the minority, but I would prefer it stay in hibernation until Jim Ward's mythical 2015 date.

I'd rather have LucasArts create a new adventure IP, which will almost certainly never happen. So, more realistically, I'd rather have Telltale try their hand at a sequel to Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle or any of the many other LucasArts adventure games.

One of the only thing I'd love is a Remaster (not SE) of CMI.
Remastered backgrounds in 32 bit colour, remastered cutscenes, FRICKIN' remastered soundtrack in at least 44 or 48 kHz, and this would be it, the game's perfect as it is.

Don't forget Plank of Love and the ending cutscene we were supposed to get.

EDIT: Also, widescreen support would be nice.

I'm still a liiiiiitle horrified that they might try to release a "special edition" of Curse with all-new graphics. That game's still the standard-bearer for what I want an adventure game to look like.
