New Poll: How long have you been here? 05 Jun, 2002 / Comments: 42

Now that E3 has wound down and we're getting back to fixing the place up, it's time for a new poll: How long have you been reading Mixnmojo? Well?

The last poll, which was based around our interview with Simon Jeffery, was a toss-up between three options. Go take a look if you're interested.

To vote in the current poll all you need to do is click on your option of choice down to the left there on the main page.

There was a great feature a few years ago on Mojo about the Old Days. Still available through the Web Archive, luckily. Featuring interviews with SNESGirl, Swordmaster, and others!

    Take a look.

That will come back in the near future. Metallus is slowly chugging through the old Mojo 7 content, converting it to work on the new site. Also there are secrets afoot for anyone who's interested in some Mojo History. (shh)

I don't remember a lot about it because my memory is like... well, it's like... I forget what my memory is like, but it's bad. I do know it's been a long time, though.

Unbelievable. Ive actually been visiting mojo for about 3 years but only started posting, visiting #mi and actually contributing in January of this year. And ever since my mojo addiction has spiralled out of control. Help me someone, please........

This thread makes me feel old. Make it go away!

P.S. Does anyone know whatever happened to snesgirl?
  • Gabez on 07 Jun, 2002, 06:56…
I can remember the curvy Mixnmojo, but didn't really visit it or something. Now I got to Mojo about four times every day, not to mention going to all the hosted sites.

I spent ages about two months ago on the Web Archive looking at the previous Mojo versions, which was very interesting for me. This place has changed a lot, but somethings will always remain the same :)

I was actually here a few times way back in the day... I don't remember how long ago, but it was 4 years or so I think. But... I don't really count that as I didn't really start checking this out regularly till about 2 years ago, and then became all hardcoreish about 1.6 years ago. But it wasn't until recently that I started posting on the forums... THANK YOU DALNET!! YOU SUCK!!! Grrr damned K-line.. >:\

    :D

Remember the old mojo? Hell I archived a copy on cd using wget :) Never know when nastalgic momentos will become good blackmail material.
  • Jake on 06 Jun, 2002, 19:40…
How old? If it's "Spaff's Monkey Island Homepage" old, I think we'd like a copy since GeoCities deleted it a couple months ago :(
  • Ben_Whatsisname on 07 Jun, 2002, 16:35…
    That it is...hehehe
  • BooJaka on 06 Jun, 2002, 13:46…
I've been here about 4 years I think. When everything was all wooden (When the GF demo came out if I remember rightly). Dear God I'm sad!
  • Marek on 06 Jun, 2002, 11:14…
Ha! A trick question. It's never been on Geocities.

Ha! A trick answer. You didn't think I'd make a fool out of myself again after the Dom voice debacle?

So, was it on Geocities or not?
  • Metallus on 06 Jun, 2002, 11:36…
Didn't you used to work here, Marek? :P

Yeah, "mojo" was on Geocities before moving to mojo.mcmail.com, and then finally to mixnmojo.com.
  • Marek on 07 Jun, 2002, 07:15…
I totally forgot about the geocities location. As a former Mixnmojo news updater who never posted anything I should really know my facts better.
  • jannar85 on 06 Jun, 2002, 01:58…
I've been here the all five years. I still remember it when it used to be on Geocities:D
  • netmonkey on 06 Jun, 2002, 01:32…
4 years for me.. I remember mixnmojo being orange... and I remember that I moved monkeygames here in 99.
  • SuperFox on 05 Jun, 2002, 21:31…

  • tabias on 05 Jun, 2002, 19:33…
FAR TOO LONG, THAT'S HOW LONG. From lurker to staffer to lurker, I got some major mixnmojo time stamped on my clock. :0)
  • Jake on 05 Jun, 2002, 22:56…
...staffer back to lurker, ever since you went missing.... SUNDAY OCTOBER 3, 1999!!!!!
  • tabias on 06 Jun, 2002, 00:32…
YOU KNOW TOO MUCH! NOW I WILL MAKE YOUR BRAIN EXPLODE USING MY BRAIN!

..autocaching bites me in the ass by saving my craptacular old pre-diagnosed-A.D.D. mojo articles! Proof positive there is no Jesus.

It's nice to go back and look at the old mojo, and see that some things never change, like Spaff's poor grammar. But that's why we love him. His grammar's a veritable institution by now.
  • Jake on 06 Jun, 2002, 19:43…
That article is *scary.* Spaff's Episode II review == 0wn3d.
  • JBRAA on 05 Jun, 2002, 16:35…
    heh, too long? heheh
  • QueZTone on 05 Jun, 2002, 16:21…
im not the oldest mojo veteran so havent been around for a lotta years, just two years max or so, but im here to stay! :D
  • spaff on 05 Jun, 2002, 15:00…
there are a few versions that have been lost in the midsts of time.

one of them was the wooden one with the chains background, and another one that was crappy and all smooth. prolly a few more.

they were both on m00ecw00.mcmail.com.. sadly lost.
  • CaliMonk on 05 Jun, 2002, 23:51…
The old geocities site was fun, that was when i entered the scene hehe.

Didn't it have some bar with the barman from MI 2 where you could like order drinks or have some coupon for others?

    Its been so long :)
  • CaliMonk on 05 Jun, 2002, 23:52…
Ah the virtual bar and grill :)
  • CaliMonk on 05 Jun, 2002, 23:53…
or wasn't it the virtual lipton bar and grill, i kinda forgot
  • Erwin_Br on 06 Jun, 2002, 06:18…
    YIPES!

*that* was mixnmojo? I remember the virtual bar! In that case I'm visiting mojo longer then I thought!

    Now I feel old...
  • Jake on 06 Jun, 2002, 19:44…
Aye. Mojo had the Virtual Bar and Grill and Ask the Voodoo Lady by mystery coder Netzombie, which happens to be the old nick of our very own DJG. Sweet Jesus!
  • Scummbuddy on 08 Jun, 2002, 13:03…
how did i not know that?
  • twifkak on 05 Jun, 2002, 14:37…
white, i think, or maybe it was curvy. was it blue once? i think i'm getting my lucaspages mixed up. i visited this page off and on for a while, but I'm a newbie to this reading every day thing. mostly 'cause of e3.
  • Erwin_Br on 05 Jun, 2002, 13:50…
Hee, black and orange all the way. Didn't it had a pic of the week or month or something? I remember a picture of FT which wasn't updated for a looooong time. The mojo crew have always been slackers :P

    (hee, just teasing)

  • Swordmaster on 05 Jun, 2002, 13:02…
Which one was the black one?
  • Metallus on 05 Jun, 2002, 13:05…
    Mojos 3-5 I think.
  • Metallus on 05 Jun, 2002, 12:45…
I remember animated bartenders and a wood background. I signed the guestbook. I sent phlegm'n'tonic to my unsuspecting friends by way of the Virtual Bar and Grill. Must have been Mojo 2 (the mojo.mcmail.com days) when I first showed up, but I visited the site a lot during Mojo 4.
