New LucasArts store 06 Jul, 2005 / Comments: 10

LucasArts has opened its new LucasArts Store, which really isn't superbly new other than a re-branding, and an easier to use frontend. Is there anything else new? I couldn't find anything more at least...

As the oldest game in there is Curse of Monkey Island one can only hope that the GameTap rumor is true.

Update: The Tingler correctly points out that the store now ships internationally. Finally you can order that Secret of Monk... Oh, wait. :~

I don't know and I'm not sure (whether it works, whether it's better than other sites, whether it's new or not), but I know the last time I checked the LA website (when they had some decent stuff, so ages ago), they didn't offer international shipping.

Well, Curse has been the oldest item in the company store for quite a while now, if memory serves. I think there may at one point have been one of those double-pack thingies there, but it's never been very retro-friendly.

I don't think the double packs were ever available from them.

It may never have been retro-friendly, but the selection was much better a year ago.

I don't know, a year and a half or so ago it at least had compilations with the majority of the classic games.

I'm fairly certain they at least will bring MI1 and 2 back, be it in the company store or online or whatever. Hopefully they'll go further than that though.

I love how LEGO Star Wars is in the "classics" section. Though I suppose it makes sense if you use 'classic' as a synonym for "good" rather than a synonym for "old" as in the former LEC store.
