New Game: Free Agent? 24 Jan, 2004 / Comments: 38

Boy, we sure have had some fun looking up trademarks for LucasArts in the past. After all, that's how we first heard about Gladius.

Well, TheForce.net broke a story yesterday that LucasArts filed for a trademark on January 14th for a game called Free Agent. Nothing else is known, although it's interesting that the word "adventure game" is mentioned in the goods and services description... of course that may not mean anything. Read about it.

I'll just add another comment so that the total number will increase, and this whole Free Agent thing will seem like an even bigger deal.

  • Marek on 29 Jan, 2004, 07:59…
Yeah, Free Agent is a lame title. You can make a really cool game but it will never fix the title. I doubt I'll buy this.
  • jp-30 on 29 Jan, 2004, 05:41…
Me too. The graphics are shit for starters. Why-oh-why did they have to make it 3D?

Damn LucasArts - haven't released a decent game since KOTOR, Armed & Dangerous, Gladius and SWON.

This is unbelievably wild speculation but... let's say that it's a new game and it's an adventure game... Well, if that's the case, then the title kind of interests me. Maybe they are trying to make a very open ended adventure game... like... morrowind, but in the style of an adventure game... with lots of different plotlines and outcomes and you play a part in how the whole thing pans out. Remember Blade Runner? That was a kind of semi-successful attempt at doing that with... multiple multiple endings, and random elements in the plot for replayability, and various important plot-affecting decisions. Wouldn't it be interesting to have that? But longer, and better?

But like I said. that's just way too much speculation.

its a game thats made for the game player to create their own gaming company and make it into a booming buisness. they are so tired of us yelling at them to make games that won't yeild them enough profit, so they are making this game for us to play and then shut up. :P
  • mercatfat on 29 Jan, 2004, 02:59…
yeah, it'd be like wall street kid!
  • mercatfat on 25 Jan, 2004, 20:23…
lucasart's links to al qaeda are becoming incrasingly apparent. if you look at the original trademark, there was the word 'orange' after the word 'agent'.

we must attack san fernando valley immediately.
