More Podcast iPod Broadcast© Heaven 27 Aug, 2009, 18:31 / 15 comments

Another House of Mojo podcast coming in your ears. Join Jason, Chris and Peter for an adventure into the sonic dimensions.

WARNING: This file is being brought to you in an untested capacity. The International House of Mojo makes no guarantees of content or quality.

Ho ho. What I mean to say is: I'm sure this podcast is excellent, but I haven't listened to it yet. If I did that, you'd all have to wait for another 97 minutes before I could post this news. So consider this a gamble on my part - and why not? It wouldn't be the first time I've accidentally endorsed something bad.

So is this the greatest podcast of all time, or an awful failure? Find out!*

*Seriously I'm sure it's great. But no guarantees!**

**It really probably is.

The Tingler Reminds: This podcast we cover Tales of Monkey Island Episode 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay, so if you haven't played and finished that don't listen for there be spoilers ahead.

We also discuss Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and our opinions on the new Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island trailer.

I love the new LeChuck theme, and how well it integrates the old LeChuck theme. It's like Anakin's theme in the phantom manace reflecting the imperial march.

A prediction I forgot to say: (spoilers!)

The manatee is the 'mouth' that keeps getting referred to, and so to find the sponge you're supposed to get swallowed up.

Great podcast again. A bit of a shame you didn't get to discuss the last W&G-episode (and the entire series), because I think it certainly deserves some sort of discussion.

I agree. I need to finish it.

Why did no one correct me when I suggested that more than Michael Land composed the first game?
  • Jake on 28 Aug, 2009, 04:24…
I believe the original PC version just had music by Michael Land. When there were extra tracks added for the CD version, someone else wrote them. I don't know if that's wholly correct but that's what I remember.

Also! Clint Bajakian is the music supervisor at Sony Interactive America at this point. So that's where he went.

    Aha, thank you Jake!

It's confusing. I'm sure he didn't compose it all by himself - especially, as you talked about, Stan's Used Vessels - but I don't know. To be honest, I didn't think he worked on EMI, but everyone else seems to think that he did.

'What do I know' is the answer.
  • Udvarnoky on 27 Aug, 2009, 23:43…
I'm actually kinda confused about the amount of composers on MI1. He definitely contributed to EMI, though (as did McConnell), but I think it was limited to Melee Island stuff. I'm also pretty sure Bajakian was the "lead" composer on that game.
  • elTee on 27 Aug, 2009, 23:46…
There's the fact, that thrik pointed out aeons ago, that in CMI the ambient noise contributes to the music. It's clearly part of the music, in that sense. In EMI the music has just been overlayed with ambient noises afterwards, and it actually detracts from the music.

Ah hell, I'm going to go and hound Telltale to put us in touch with Michael Land so we can finally interview the elusive bastard.

    But finally finished listening to it, so well done guys a great podcast. For the record, I am one of the three people who thinks the EGA version of SOMI is the best one ;

    My prediction:

If we take it that Guybrush and Elaine are really not supposed to be together, isn't it a bit handy that there's this new sexy woman around who is actually perfect for Guybrush?

If that worked out then by the end, LeChuck will still be human, so it's not the perfect theory.
  • neon_git on 27 Aug, 2009, 21:27…
    My prediction:

Elaine's pox infection gets steadily worse and, by the last chapter, she becomes the main foe.
