More LEC 20th Anniversary Stuff 06 Nov, 2002 / Comments: 5
You can find even more goodies now at the LEC 20th Anniversary Site. First, the History of LucasArts articles have expanded to cover the 1995-1998 years and discusses games like Full Throttle, The Dig, The Curse of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, and oh yeah, Star Wars.
Be sure to also read the updated Flashbacks section for amusing stories about Fate of Atlantis character animations and being dissed by CMI's Gary Coleman. The Flashbacks also contain an interesting memory of how the LucasArts art department reacted to the news that they were going full 3D.
Finally, check out this really cool pencil animation from Outlaws as well as the original trailer for Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. The fun never stops at LucasArts.com!

:)
but they might have got there now... maybe.. im still awaiting evidence.
3d art is a tool, use 2d art if it suits the gameplay better, as you would use a different style of camera or costume for a film.
Just because the technology is there it doesnt mean it HAS to be used, 2d japanese anim? films are often far more cinematic that actual films.. right?.
i dont think anyone here would say that EMI's art style was more effecive than CMI's. But if you do think that, SAY SO, we arent fascists :)(sometimes)
sounds like debate time.. all from one stupid comment... *gulp*
i wouldnt be surprised if LEC updates sometime soon with: THATS RIGHT! THE CLASSICS ARE COMING BACK! WE'RE RE-RELEASING ALL CLASSICS IN THEIR ORIGINAL PACKAGING!
