Mojo Reviews Indy 21 Feb, 2003 / Comments: 15

Wow.. our first on-time-review of a game ever! Surely a time for celebration! Yes, after a weekend of gaming, Lemonhead has thrown out this superb look at the new Indiana Jones action title for the Xbox. Here' a snippet:
After a spectacular intro sequence giving a brief insight into what you may expect to find in Emperor?s Tomb, you?re dropped straight into the action on just another treasure hunt (which Indy invariably finds himself in at the beginning of every movie) for the lost idol of Kouru Wato. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this particular artefact is located in a deep recess, under the ruins of a lost temple in the tropical wilderness.
We certainly had a fun time playing this title! Read it here, adventure fans!

Any news on a possible Gamecube outing for Mr. Jones?

You know, that other next-generation console. The one that nobody ever remembers when developing good looking games like this?

Don't you know how lonely my Gamecube gets night after night?

This game still doesn't seem to be what it should be (according to me). I am a really big fan of the Indy movies and I actually see Fate Of Atlantis as the fourth Indy movie. I think it is that good. It has action, adventure and story all in the vein of the movies.

When Infernal Machine came out I thought it was rather decent but the story was really bad and the fact that you ran around in places where there were no humans to talk to what so ever was totally laughable and stupid. The only humans you ever encountered was all the russians you had to shoot.

Since there are no dialogues in this game either (at least that is what I have heard) I doubt it will settle my craving for a new Indy movie. I just hope the constant fighting doesn't get boring and that the story is rather good. I will still buy it the minute the PC version hits the shelves because of the big Indy fan that I am. No matter how bad I think it is I can't stay away from it.

Actually, I'm an archaeologist (honest) and you can spell it both ways. Artefact is the English way of spelling it, Artifact the American way. So usage varies. Cool review!
