I don't know what your problem with running old adventures on Win XP is. I just tried DOTT & it works fine, will try the rest ASAP. Try program called ScummVM, as you can't expect to run such games without a help of some kind.
• Jayel on 03 Jun, 2002, 18:36…
DOTT still runs fine on my 286 16mhz with 2mb of ram. where are you guys' 286? ha ha ha

hey, i just realized you guys are on the lucasarts pages headlines bar! no wonder mixnmojo was so slow on thursday. congrats on the publicity.

I liked the interview. It confirmed a lot of my suspiscions. I noticed that they were remaking a lot of older games. I think we'll see a sequel to Day of the Tentical, and Sam & Max. The only question you didn't ask that I wanted to hear was, is there plans of another installment of the Xwing series. After reading the "LucasArts Renews Relationship with Lawrence Holland and Totally Games" artical, I thought this would be a obvious question. One that many would like to get a hint to.
• Jake on 05 Jun, 2002, 12:31…
First they're making a new Luftwaffe game, as said in the press release. I suppose that means you cant rule out another XWing.
• laceyware on 31 May, 2002, 11:31…
I don't like the idea of streaming the old games. Why not make them downloadable, but you need the original CD to get speech and whatnot. So that I can actually play Full Throttle on WinME, without having to download it all again - just the module to get it to work. That would be cool.
• Jayel on 31 May, 2002, 10:05…
Great interview!! But I think the proper spelling of "John Knolls" guy is Jon Knoles. John Knoll is the Photoshop guy.
• telarium on 31 May, 2002, 11:27…
Could be, it's hard to know. I've seen him referred to former employees as both "Knolls" and "Knoles."
• benjoyce on 31 May, 2002, 05:57…
WOW! They expect to create more Monkey Island games. It means two or more, right? What is after quadrology and quintilogy?
And it's so good thing is to have more Scummmm? p'n'c adv. games. Yeehaw!

Simon just provided all the content Mojo needs in one word... BOOYA.

If I find time this summer: '88 Aries K Spoof Guy + Simon == two people that use the word 'Booya' to show emotion.

For those who aren't sure what I'm talking about:

Yay, great interview! Thanks Simon & Tom & Mojo!

Hmm about the people they're hiring back... Wouldn't it only be 'obvious' - as he mentioned - that if it'd be Steve Purcell about what game is being sequeled? I know Sam and Max is done by Infinite but still maybe that is going to be in conjunction with LEC after all?

About the streamin, not sure. If they'd make the online store available a little more that'll help a lot too btw. Maybe a question for next time?

Thnx again =] ohh would do a lot for one of those heroes posters
• Mad Lord Snapcase on 31 May, 2002, 09:16…
Exactly my thought as well. The only one of those people metioned whose project would be "given all away" by revealing his name would be Purcell. Possibly Grossman, but more likely Purcell.

So that would mean Mike Stemmle is working on a Sam and Max adventure game, if all the clues are correlated.

Right.

Er.
• DasJan on 07 Jun, 2002, 12:52…
It's not Grossman.
• Scummbuddy on 31 May, 2002, 11:37…
I told you guys. XBox mag said that infinite machine was looking for a publisher to get the game really moving. LEC would be the best of all, but i dunno.
• Deafening Silence on 30 May, 2002, 11:29…
Interesting. Cannot wait to see what the deal is for the old games, and their arch nemesis - windows Xp. :D

Big up y'all for da creatah, da realizah, Simon Jeffery represented! (Booyah.)
• Marek on 30 May, 2002, 05:28…
Ack, that made very little sense. Why isn't there an edit button? Well, it's just booyah then I guess. *sniff*
• twifkak on 30 May, 2002, 10:14…
Hizooray for the online mazigazine!
• Shanty on 30 May, 2002, 10:51…
What is that? Gungan?

You are correct.
• DasJan on 30 May, 2002, 04:45…
Gratz! Really great interview!
• DarkLord on 30 May, 2002, 03:17…
Nice interview :)

Did I get that completely wro?ng or did Simon actually suggest another real 'Scumm-Point-n-Click' Adventure Game might be a possibility?
Now THAT would be great. I like the Idea about reviving classics through streaming or such as well. :)

"So we really wanted to put a lot of attention on making sure there were less Star Wars games, and with every one we do, people look forward to it and get a lot out of it"
Well nice, then I'll keep on hoping for another Jedi Outcast (emm sorry, I'm a Star Wars Fan as well ;)) Patch that fixes the remaining issues.
• JBRAA on 30 May, 2002, 03:00…
YAY!! =D
• matt on 30 May, 2002, 01:46…
really interesting and professional interview! Thanx a lot!!

it was really good to say that.
but Simons indirect answer was a little bit unsatisfying: Since EMI these two make the bottom of my "Who's doin' cool stuff at LucasArts"-list. Well I guess they HAVE to concentrate on them because they are two of a handful of people wo stayed at LEC. At least he could have metioned Hal Barwood.
• matt on 30 May, 2002, 01:50…
DRagh. What the ff... my quotations were not posted... ok here they are:
the good one-

Andrew:
Yeah, I think we're all big fans of the people and not just the products.

the one i didn't like:

Simon: Yeah, because the people put their personalities, especially people like Sean and Mike, they just put their personalities in the game so much.

now add these to the comment 1 level up and then it should make sense.

• black_sheep on 30 May, 2002, 00:19…
great interview and i really liked it when Simon said that there's gonna bee another monkey island game(and other classic games too!). i liked the logos of the "new" heroes of the next generation and the 20th anniversary of lucasarts. =0)~
• DayoftheTentacle on 30 May, 2002, 00:06…
Wow, wish I could have gotten an interview when I was at E3. I just walked into the LucasArts area and was handed a media package. Hey, better than nothing. By the way, why did one of the receptionists at the front know NOTHING of Mixnmojo?! Maybe I should try to get into E3 next time with Mixnmojo and get the "real dirt" instead of using "Teen People Magazine."

Any one notice Ben looking a little goofy in that "Hero for the Next Generation" poster?
• Jake on 29 May, 2002, 22:28…
He's trying very hard to smirk. Give him a break he has a triangular head.
• Scummbuddy on 31 May, 2002, 11:39…
like a ... Tentacle!
• Remi O on 29 May, 2002, 21:35…
Great interview! And I second the "I *heart* Tom Sarris day". It should be expanded to include Simon too, I think.
• Metallus on 29 May, 2002, 21:38…
Is there a simon avatar besides the "LEC Legal is watching"? Looks like we'll have to make one for Simon day.
• spaff on 29 May, 2002, 21:33…
i demand a day wherby everyones avatar is chaned to the I *heart* Tom Sarris one on lucasforums.

International Tom Ssrris day.
