LucasArts Sweeps First Annual Pen Awards 31 Mar, 2004, 15:30 / 20 comments

LucasArts' recent sway to evilness would almost make you forget it still has some redeeming qualities. At least we can say they handed out some really nice pens at the Game Developers Conference! They're so nice, in fact, that GameDev.net awarded it Coolest Pen in its First Annual GDC Pen Awards. The LucasArts pen has a built-in light that sorta makes it look like a lightsaber.

    I was assuming that LucasArts cancellation was gonna be it but NOOOO, it turns out to be real.

    (Now I REALLY hate LucasArts, they betrayed me and I want my revenge)

    I have the -exact- same pen but with "Google" written on the side.

    Nothing original in other words, just a standard pen they selected to have their logo put on.

    So still the same LEC bastards that lack originallity.

    Actually, I'm pretty sure this pen was originally something Lucasfilm used a few years ago. I'm pretty sure that one predates the Google pen.

    My point was not that it was something Google made, my point is that there's some Pen company that made this pen and just sells it to companies that want their logo on it.

    LucasFilm, Google, LucasArts whatever neither one of them thought of it imho.

    You mean to say that LucasArts, Google and other such companies don't actually have internal pen-design departments?

    well, you don't really know if google bought the liscensing rights from lucasfilm... i would probably guess that it was lucasfilms idea, or at least money to produce it first, and then the second hand pen producing company could maybe later sell the same pen with different names.

    I understand that all those employees formerly working on Sam and Max have been assimilated into the LucasArts Stationary Design team.
