LucasArts' Secret History VIII 13 Oct, 2008, 18:12 / 16 comments

It's finally time for our Day of the Tentacle extravaganza article, written in piss and blood on a concrete wall, and then later typed up onto the internet for your viewing pleasure.

This month's instalment features Peter McConnell, art from Colin Panetta, and a computer game that's probably the funniest and cleverest thing you'll ever play. Check it check it check it.

If you do a secret history of Zombies Ate My Neighbors, I'll try to contribute as I was always forgetting to send in my input of this game.

Thanks for the reference to ManiacZombies. I promise it will get a fresh website soon.

These are for the adventure games, so Zombies doesn't qualify.

However, after this is over I hope to do a similar article series celebrating Indy's excellent, non-adventure games, and Zombies is a perfect candidate for that. I'll definitely remember you when that happens.

By "Indy's" I mean "LucasArts'". What a bizarre typo.

Oh, I must read those reviews. First of all my favorite adventure: Dott.

    Lol, piss and blood. :D

    I forget.
There are better stories or other things out there in games, but I give Dott a 100% rating!

Half a month late and still you misspell my name!

    Great article though!
Every article amazes me, the kind of info you guys dig up on these games.
    Cheers to you!
(Just try to get my name right once)

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe YOU'RE the one spelling it wrong? Hmmm?
  • Lagomorph on 14 Oct, 2008, 22:07…
As a direct result of this reply, I checked dictionary.com:

    lagomorph; lag·o·morph
    –noun
any member of the order Lagomorpha, comprising the hares, rabbits, and pikas, resembling the rodents but having two pairs of upper incisors.

    No results found for lagamorph

    So appearantly, no. :p

We actually delayed the article due to spending the last 2 weeks debating your name's correct spelling.

And still we got it wrong. I knew I should have pushed for one more week.

The Sam and Max article should be excellent, then...

As always, a delight to read.

"Bernard simply returns to the present, but Hoagie winds up five hundred years in the past, and Laverne five hundred years in the future."

What in the world? Pretty sure it was two hundred years. ;)

    Corrected!

You'd think George Lucas would have better things to do than hack into our server and insert such errors.

This was just a really wonderful, thoughtful look into the Maniac Mansion "mythos" - great read. I'm a big fan of this series. It's definitely at the top of my list.

Pfft finally. Off to read it.

That was good...occasional spelling mistake though (like ALL the Secret Histories, woo).

Can't believe you didn't finish it, Gabez.
