Me! Max. Me! Max Max Max (Me me me!)

You're such an adorable urchin, Max.

...But more on that story later.

For now, feast your balls (your eye-balls, that is) on our latest look-back extravaganza, featuring art from the talented Paco Vink and Junaid, interviews from Stemmle, Clark, and Purcell, and of course (possibly) the funniest game LucasArts ever made!

"I hope there was nobody on that bus."

"No-one we know at least."

My submission was ignored. *cries*

I found nothing from you in my inbox. :(
• Gabez on 11 Dec, 2008, 10:31…
Sorry -- but if you e-mail it to me or post it here, I can add it.
• counting_pine on 10 Dec, 2008, 22:34…
Small typo on the trivia page: That should be "Michaud", not "McCloud"
:)
• Udvarnoky on 13 Dec, 2008, 18:03…
MCCLOUD!!!!!
• Lagomorph on 10 Dec, 2008, 16:57…
Wow... You actually spelled my name right this time. You just used the wrong name...
You've always used my nickname Lagomorph, changed it to Lagamorph a couple of times, and now it just says Joop!
Cool picture with it though!

Any news on the Full Throttle Secret History article? I haven't written my two cents yet, but I'd like to know when we can expect it?
• Gabez on 10 Dec, 2008, 23:04…
Also, thanks for always submitting opinions, despite me getting your name wrong so much! :~
• Gabez on 10 Dec, 2008, 23:03…
Hee, I'm really sorry about all the name confusion... putting together these articles is like organising a mad hatter's tea party, so names sometimes get mixed up. As for the misspellings: I'm a little dyslexic and often "reinvent" people's names. One of these days we'll get your name right though! :~

The Full Throttle article is currently planned for the end of January.

ahh hit the road.. It was the funniest game I ever played but I think it shaped my sense of humour.. I was playing it when I was 13, and the game and characters just stuck with me over the years. Its been a rocky road following sam & max but the last couple of years couldn't be sweeter :)
• Bad Asp! on 09 Dec, 2008, 15:05…
That does it. I now officially want Sam and Max Hit the Road back on store shelves again, and I want Sam and Max: Freelance Police to be worked on again.

What? I'm just saying what most of us are thinking.
• jp-30 on 09 Dec, 2008, 18:46…
Hit the Road's on the shelves in New Zealand. Yay us. And yay Activision.
• Bad Asp! on 10 Dec, 2008, 18:10…
I meant in the United States!
• Giygas on 09 Dec, 2008, 13:36…
Shouldn't it also be mentioned that Bernard's sprites are present in the game?
• Udvarnoky on 09 Dec, 2008, 16:37…
I thought I put that in the trivia?
• Giygas on 09 Dec, 2008, 23:17…
Nope, it just says that the Snuckey's soda jerks resemble him.
• Udvarnoky on 09 Dec, 2008, 23:32…
...and they do. For me to have said they're the exact same sprite isn't entirely accurate.
• counting_pine on 10 Dec, 2008, 14:07…
Sam and Max does actually have a miscoloured Bernard sprite in the game. You can see this using the ScummVM debug by typing "actor 2 custome 254".
• Giygas on 13 Dec, 2008, 01:02…
Just a note, this is what I meant.
• Kroms on 09 Dec, 2008, 03:32…
Hit the Road is not the best Sam and Max game, not by a long stretch. Chariots of the Dogs? Season Two in general, but especially Chariots of the Dogs.
• Gabez on 09 Dec, 2008, 07:36…
I like Chariots of the Dogs and all, but for me, you can't touch Hit the Road. I should probably complete it.

Anyway, just because they're both Sam and Max doesn't actually mean you need to compare them. They're both very different games.
• Udvarnoky on 09 Dec, 2008, 03:40…
I think for me Hit the Road and Season 1 are about on the same level, and Season 2 edges them out.
• Kroms on 09 Dec, 2008, 03:58…
I'd say Season Two is exceptional, Season One and Hit the Road are both equally excellent. It's all good.
• Jake on 08 Dec, 2008, 21:13…
Was that a "Sam & Max Ate My Balls" reference in your news post, Gabez? I think that's the first Sam & Max page I ran into online.
• Metallus on 09 Dec, 2008, 00:46…
I miss that webring. ;(
• Scummbuddy on 09 Dec, 2008, 00:14…
Wow, what a reference. Forgot all about that one.
• Gabez on 08 Dec, 2008, 21:15…
I'm afraid not -- just me being scrotum-fixated.

My first ever web-site was called "Harry Potter nibbled my earlobe," though. Back in '99.
