In an itriguing thread posted at The Inventory, a spokesperson for Bad Brains Entertainment (who have just picked up Autumn Moon's Vampyre's Story) made an astounding comment;
"...also there are negotiations with LucasArts but I can't get into detail here. Maybe this will be the surprise release of 2005. The game you all wanted but didn't get (except for a fine trailer)..."

Hey, that sounds like your typical Lucasarts employee!
...of about ten years ago. :(
Call me pessimistic, but I dont see the stone faced suits of today's lucasarts reacting well to displays of enthusiasm and honest passion.
Lucasarts boycot reinstated.
Honestly, Wolfgang's recent antics are likely gonna mean any potential deal will be cancelled. I just wish he'd shut up about it until he actually secures the rights.
*Then* we can suck his dick.

I guess we'll find out soon enough when their site goes live, but is Bad-Brain a development studio as well as a publisher / investor?
Are I-Jet and Orgastic Four internal Bad-Brain projects?
This is all extremely promising, with or without Sam & Max 2.
However the cynic in me feels the whole "buying Sam & Max 2 from LucasArts" thing could be nothing more than a publicity stunt to get some exposure for Bad-Brain. Let's face it if the deal falls over (and they're saying an awful lot for someone who's signed an NDA) then it won't be hard to make it all look like LucasArts fault.
But good on Bad-Brain for getting the buzz for their company and projects kick-started in this way!
Mixnmojo abandons Lucasarts coverage in favor of Bad Brains Entertainment. Details at 9
And I was having so much fun running a Lucasarts boycotting campaign!!
I like to think I've been responsible for five less KOTOR sales, and a good field of influence from the bagging out i gave it at my little cousins party.
And then theres starwars galaxies, which is so easy to bag out, especially with WOW and everquest two out..
And then theres theres Episode III, which I was having considerable success at convincing friends to "Do a Matrix Revolutions" and just avoid the third bit because the second was so crap...
But alas, I had made a promise to myself to stop this fun if Lucasarts let Sam and Max 2 see the light of day, and it looks like they have.
Too soon yet for dancing naked in the streets, methinks.

Well, he did before the story was edited. The plot thickens...
Also maybe once I can convince DJG to fix the cookie bug or whatever is preventing me from logging into the admin pages using Firefox I will post some news here again. For now I'm locked out of my own site except for comment posting (which doesn't require a cookie).
