LucasArts Indiana Jones Survey 30 Dec, 2004, 15:15 / 8 comments

As recently pointed out in the Mojo forums by woodenstool, LucasArts have put online a gaming survey which concentrates on Indiana Jones gaming in the latter half. If you're an Indy fan, or just have some opinions to share on The Emperor's Tomb you might like to take the survey yourself.

My guess would be that too many people did like me and asked them to make the next Indy game a graphic adventure along the same lines as Fate of Atlantis with its Fists, Wits and Team paths. The "new" Lucasarts wouldn't like to hear those answers.

That might be partially true, and it does make sense for them to close the survey if that's the case.

Part of the point of the survey is to reach a wide demographic. When a mostly adventure-game enthusiast site like Mojo gets a hold of it, the result isn't representative of what LEC is trying to achieve, ie. reaching a general audience market.

That or they just got their desired quota of answers.

That said, the idea of a fists/wits/team path adventure game at this point is entirely unappealing to me. That's not even real Indiana Jones (he does actioney things more advanced than "punch guy" and "use whip to swing across gap"), and it would hardly be inventive at this point, just costly to develop.

Emperors Tomb 2 is also obviously not the way to go, as Indy adventures aren't supposed to be about shooting poachers and jump puzzles any more than they are about "use whip to swing over gap." Maybe a balance. And maybe Nathan Stapley as art director.

Any survey that was there is now gone, it seems. Unless it doesn't apply to males my age.
