LucasArts E3 Heating Up 23 Apr, 2002, 20:04 / 28 comments

It's finally that time of year. LucasArts has started teasing us with one screenshot after another from unknown games.

On Friday we got a mysterious ninja-like guy, and today their E3 page has some crazy tank. Is it from a Star Wars game? Who knows? You can never tell with these futuristic tanks.

Update: Yes, it's a Star Wars Episode II game. Note the Republic emblem all over it.

The tank is from a game called "Clone Wars". There's a scan at theforce.net.

I'd send this to the guys at Mojo, but I'm too lazy. One of them will see this eventually.

... and what's about Totally Games' Eldorado or Factor 5's Thornado??? They could also be E3 titles ...

When I heard about the second image of LucasArts' E3 Line-up, I clicked on it to get information about the filepath. It was: http://www.lucasarts.com/e3/sotw.jpg.
Later the day I tried it another time and the path was changed into http://www.lucasarts.com/e3/images/2.jpg. So SOTW could/should be the abbreviation of this new title ... Hope you enjoy this information =8)

I believe XOTW stands for "X of the week", which might make the screenshot "shot of the week". Perhaps that was its original designation.

Ahh young jedi, too early... it is... to tell the future.
Concentrate on the here and now.
Anyway, that Ninja imagine could be anything from Wrath, to a SW eu character, to MI, to FT, to Humourous token action game #1.

    Theres 5 games right?

Now, we already know that one is Indy.

We also know one of them is gonna be a WW2 Flight Sim.

That one we've just seen is Starwars.

Theres also that game wrath, which is what I reckon that ninja screen is.

The other is that humourous action game

    Thats 5 right? Bugger.
Their 50:50 ratio of original to license games is correct. That unfortunately doesn't cover adventure games this year.

Well now, you don't know if we'll see the Luftwaffe game, the Planet Moon game or Wrath. My guess is that they're not far enough in development yet. Then again I could be completely wrong - guess we just have to wait and see.

AHHHHHH! NOT MORE STAR WARS! Should've known there would be something for Ep II.
  • DasJan on 24 Apr, 2002, 06:59…
hope one of them is an adventure...
  • QueZTone on 24 Apr, 2002, 01:05…

  • Metallus on 23 Apr, 2002, 22:36…

  • Jake on 23 Apr, 2002, 22:35…
    Ah yes :)
  • Trapezoid on 23 Apr, 2002, 20:29…
The annual race is on to try and find prematurely uploaded images from LA's E3 games. Maybe they're smarter this year.
  • Remi O on 24 Apr, 2002, 07:11…
I think they are. I've tried already.
  • spaff on 24 Apr, 2002, 07:22…
they didnt like it when you did that before.. we got shouted at.. hehe :)
  • Jake on 24 Apr, 2002, 09:40…
Yeah companies don't like it so much when you pre-announce all of their games (and their logos) ahead of time. Of course, what did we announce? Demolition? wooo!
  • Remi O on 24 Apr, 2002, 07:26…
Hee, really? I did send an e-mail to the webmaster about it though!
