Lego Star Wars compilation headed your way 24 May, 2007 / Comments: 8

LucasArts has announced Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga this fall for Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and DS. As you might have guessed this is a compilation package of the two immensely popular Lego Star Wars games.

According to Traveller's Tales, the guys who are responsible for the compilation, there will be some extra features in these versions to make them more than just the two games repackaged. This includes "new characters, features, and levels," and the DS version is said to be a new game altogether, done from scratch. I know even some of you "I hope LucasArts gets cancer" folk dug the Lego games, so maybe this is news that doesn't suck.

Today I walked into the LucasArts booth at Star Wars Celebration, shouted "MIXNMOJO," and walked away.

Great that the Zam level's being re-instated. There were heaps of unused assets in game - ships, models, creatures, and characters (especially the first game) that showed levels were planned, started development, but never finished. Looks like a number of them will be finished and restored.

I managed to get a few of the unused assets in game, which you can see here if you flick through my modding tutorial (see File Swapping section in particular.

Hopefully they'll redo the Episode III levels as they were basically unfinished. Hopefully with a Yoda Vs. Emperor battle in there too.

Maybe Mojo should get around to reviewing Lego Star Wars II before this comes out. Oh, okay, I'll start typing...

You see, guys? They've got products slated for their big 25th year! A PSP extension of their Battlefront series and a Star Wars compilation, both 3rd party games! And to think I had lost faith.

Does LucasArts even have a first party development division any more? All of their development teams seem to have been either layed off or quit long ago.

The new Indiana Jones is being developed by an internal team, so yes.

Wait a minute... so you're Udvarnoky AND Jason? Now that's just greedy!

I like to imagine him wearing a hockey mask in his "Jason" guise.
