LEGO Indiana Jones II: The Adventure Continues released! 18 Nov, 2009 / Comments: 8

While we regrettably didn't commit to following the voluminous and quality coverage of this game as comprehensively as it deserved, today is the shipping date for Lego Indiana Jones II: The Adventure Continues, as you may know from some of the charming commercials for it that I at least have been seeing on TV.

In addition to containing levels from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the game also sports new levels from the original trilogy distinct from those of the first game. Most attractively, the game features a full fledged level builder and a rather promising co-op mode that looks to be a substantial improvement over the already fun The Original Adventures.

Developed by Traveller's Tales and published by LucasArts, the game is available for PC, Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, and PSP. Grab it while it's hot or risk betraying Shiva.

I assume levels can't be shared between platforms?

There's no way I'd attempt to build levels on anything other than PC, though I'd prefer to play them (and other's designs) on Wii.

Yeah I dunno, the Lego anything games make me smile and think theyre cool for about 15 minutes, then they just become repetative platformers, that have intentionally blocky graphics.

My kids like em though, even though he just mainly likes jumping off of cliffs in them, and finding ways to break the lego characters hes playing, but, there you go.

As with Staff of Kings, I'll wait for it to get down to $20.

A nice thing about this game's launch is that it has inspired a recent price cut for the first game, which is now retailing for $20. Not sure how long ago that's been going on, but there it is.

It's actually been "downsized" to that family-friendly price for quite some time, as has LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

Definitely a reason to stay my hand at buying this, I think. As much as I love burning a couple afternoons off playing through them.
