LEC Updates 05 Oct, 2002 / Comments: 7

Fridays mean more updates at LucasArts.com. You can check out the usual things like new screenshots for XBox Jedi Outcast, a character profile for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and a new screenshot from Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb that just screams, "Hello! I am looking at a giant JPEG in the distance."

But in more interesting news, check out this background art scan from The Dig, which continues the LucasArts 20th Anniversary celebration. It brings back fond memories of sawing off the arm of a German scientist.

Meh, why is everything a JPEG to everyone? It just looks like a small texture to me. I see no obvious JPEG compression in the image, and trust me, even with Bi/Trilinear/Anisotropic (which Aniso wouldn't change anything for a sky...) filtering, at that amount of stretching you would see JPEG artifacts. It is probably just a TGA or BMP, either that or I suppose a "not" compressed JPEG. But it isn't something I could call. CAN YOU!?!!??!!!!!! :)

Heh. This was not only boring, but utterly pointless. Being picky isn't always fun. Now to go gnaw my arms off!

it will look fine on a tv screen (hint: get the console version)

Hmmm, I could also just run it with TV out, and play it with about 1/3 of the FPS I would get on a console because my graphics card sucks at the moment.

(WORST IDEA EVAR... okay, not ever, but still, not the best idea.)

Yeah, now I'm confused. I wanted to get the PC version because it can do FSAA, but now that I have a Gamecube... hmmm...

I considered this actually, but assumed that saying "raster image" would be too verbose.

You can tell that Dig screenshot was totally intended for 320x200 only. Also:
