Officially Sanctioned Site, www.lucasfiles.com, Offers Fans Location to Create and Post Modifications of LucasArts Titles

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- December 11, 2002 -- Fans who create game modifications (mods) based upon characters and elements in titles by LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC can now post their works on the Internet at LucasFiles, which can be found at www.lucasfiles.com. The new site, created by Lucas Fan Network (LFN), www.lfnetwork.com, an independent collection of web sites dedicated to LucasArts and its games, is an exclusive and sanctioned online location offering a variety of mods inspired by LucasArts titles. The LucasFiles database also hosts unique fan produced content, levels, and an array of other media.

    Um... I really don't understand. Does Lucasfiles.com allow people to submit fangames such as FOMI2 or do they mean something else? I looked at the 'submit' page but got swamped by the legal mumbo-jumbo.

    Yeah, I've been trying to find more details about the whole thing for Scurvy as he's interested in finishing FOMI2 off. I've also got some fangames that I might upload to the site, if they explained everything a bit better.

    So does that mean now that anyone could send in hacked versions of LucasArts Games or other games with LucasArts elements? Or is that a completely stupid question I just asked.

    By the way I dont think I told you guys but I?m in Benidorm right now (Thats in Spain, if you didnt know). I just bought a Rubber Chicken (but its a shame theres no pulley in the middle }:?)
