Kinect Star Wars is in Stores Now 03 Apr, 2012 / 4 comments

If you ever wanted to dance with Han Solo to Jason Derulo's "Ridin' Solo", then there's good news for you. Kinect Star Wars is in stores now.

The reviews so far say that the dancing mini-game, the rancor destruction mini-game, and the pod racing mini-games are fun, but the game's most anticipated feature, the Jedi fighting mini-games, are unresponsive, making the game overall a let down.

Wait, that was a real game? I thought it was just a tech demo.

The best was the Rebel Assault one, of course. Shadows of the Empire and Rogue Squadron (all of them) had nothing on that game.

Yeah, good ol RA had it too, but you didnt have to trip the AT-ATs in that one, just blast the hell out of them. The 3D graphics era made tripping them possible in a thousand* games.

*Thousand used due to not feeling like caring enough to look up how many games it acutally was.

At least this one doesn't seem to have a Battle Of Hoth level. I think from N64 days till Battlegrounds, every one had a Battle of Hoth. It was like doing the Beaches of Wherever that I think may have been a production requirement for every WWII game. Nearly the same thing every time just higher resolutions and more textures.

Cant be too much of a letdown since I dont think anyone was too hyped up for this anyway.

Anytime during production when I saw a video of the kinect jedi fights, it looked like crap. Waving your arms around and random things happen. One video showed some guy from some website and a developer, with the site guy playing it, and you can tell hes trying to say it seems cool, but at the same time you could clearly see the motion capture acting like it was pointed at a mosh pit.

Another poorly made cash in on the Star Wars license.

    Ok, sorry, I'm done.
