Jeffery takes over the world 20 Jan, 2005, 19:22 / 13 comments

Simon Jeffery, ex-LucasArts head honcho, is hitting the big time: SEGA announced today that they are integrating their American and European management teams to "drive growth in western markets." And who is SEGA of America's new President/COO? Simon Jeffery himself.

We wish Mr. Jeffery good luck.

Holy crap. No wonder SEGA are doing so badly with decision making like that!

(Simon Jeffries was the guy who cancelled SnM2, non?)

No no no! Simon was the one who announced Sam & Max 2 and Full Throttle 2. Then the evil LucasArts fatcats cancelled the FT2. Simon fought really hard to try and keep the game going and make it really good, but he's only one man, and he just wasn't strong enough against the iron fist of Capatalist America. Then when they wanted to cancel Sam & Max 2, he thought, "well I'll be f-ed if I'm going to let that happen!" so he led a valiant charge against the fat cats, which resulted in him being crucified.

I mean, Jeeze, didn't you play LEC Killer!?

Uh no. Simon Jeffery left Lucasarts BEFORE the Sam & Max cancellation. And I'm glad that he works for SEGA now.

    >> Mr. Jeffery "has decided to leave [LucasArts] and return to his native England with his family." <<

Guess England and / or the Family wasn't as much fun as anticipated...

Isn't he still working in Britain, thought?

I think you're required to be in America if you're the president of SEGA America. ?

Jeeze Remi, you can be so mean when you're drunk. :~

What I meant was, I thought the merging was just so that the company was bigger, and people were still working on both sides of the Atlantic. Like, he's not the President of Sega America, is he? He's the President of Sega Euromerica, right?

See, I didn't actually read the full articile. This is what I pay you for! (Or is it the other way round?)

I thought exactly the same thing when I read the news.

That was at least a year ago now wasn't it? Surely that was enough time. Also he was working at that train place for a bit too, I think.

Yeah, Hornby Model Trains or somesuch.

    Wait, he wasn't assasinated?
