Jason gives Hard Evidence a play 12 Oct, 2007 / Comments: 12

Brutal what now? CSI is obviously where it's at!

If you were thinking of buying Telltale Game's latest Crime Scene Investigation adventure, don't. That is, don't until you've read our review.

And for the record that homeless man died after he left my house. Don't dig up my patio!!

Jason, have playing the 2 games made you interested in watching the TV series at all?
  • Udvarnoky on 13 Oct, 2007, 03:48…
    Nope!

    Couple of nitpicks-
    1. Didn't know Telltale did Star Wars games.
    2. Twice you referred to the game as Hard Evidencee. Once I could forgive, twice you sound like you want us to sing the title.

Normally I'd let these nitpicks go, but as you threw the first stone at the end of the review the gloves are off baby! Bwa ha ha haaa!

Good review though! Maybe I will play it Jason, maybe I... no, who am I fooling? I hate CSI with a passion and don't really like 'serious' adventures either (shock announcement there, I'm sure they'll be talking about THAT come 8pm Sunday on #monkey-island).

Rest assured though, you came very close to persuading me! The lack of money and the fact that I'd rather dip my elbows in honey and offer them to a bear than admit defeat and play a CSI game stops me though.

I didn't say Telltale made Star Wars games and the instances of "Evidencee" are Gabez's doing, probably when he was trying to italicize every instance of the title because I sent him the review as a Word document instead of an HTML file.

    First paragraph.

I had a feeling Gabez was behind the e fiasco though.
  • Udvarnoky on 12 Oct, 2007, 22:48…
    I don't think you're reading it right.
  • The Tingler on 13 Oct, 2007, 09:45…
"This series is sort of like Telltale's Star Wars in that people around these parts might have a tendency to immediately dismiss the games for their huge and universally recognizable license"

Don't think I am reading it wrong...?
  • Gabez on 13 Oct, 2007, 10:55…
It's supposed to be read as "Telltale's version of Star Wars" like Edinburgh is the "Athens of the North." So "CSI is the Star Wars of Telltale."

I made it a bit clearer by adding version in there.

Also I can't see any "evidencee" typos. Maybe I fixed them in my sleep?
  • Udvarnoky on 13 Oct, 2007, 15:52…
I actually fixed it the first time I replied to Tingler. Probably would have been polite of me to point that out. :~
  • Haggis on 13 Oct, 2007, 10:54…
I think he means what Star Wars is for LucasArts, CSI is for Telltale. So CSI is Telltale's "version" of Star Wars.

Ahhh, I get it. Fair enough. Nitpicking over. Deduction - It's all Gabez's fault. I'm sure we can all live with that.
  • Gabez on 12 Oct, 2007, 21:33…
Heh I don't know why that happened. I ran a search and replace on the second page - but lots of es? Bizzare. I'll fix it though.
