Is there anybody left? 24 Feb, 2005, 17:12 / 2 comments

Do you remember seeing Tom Byron's name fly past in the credits of some of the classic LucasArts games? Well, it most likely won't happen again as the old LucasArts Director of Product Marketing has joined the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine as Editor-in-Chief.

Byron was last credited in Star Wars: Galaxies from 2003, and probably hasn't done anything at LucasArts for a while. Makes one wonder if there's actually anybody left there though.

Wow! I got a mention in Mojo.

Indeed Jake's words ring true. I left the hallowed halls of LucasArts almost three years ago. I've been with Ziff Davis since then, first as Editor in Chief of GameNOW magazine and then as EIC of GMR.

Being in marketing at my favorite game company was great fun for the 7.5 years I was there, but magazines bring me back to my roots. Out of college, I joined Antic Publishing where I worked on such pubs as Start Magazine for the Atari ST (yeah, that long ago!).

Anyway, it's fantastic to be back on the press side of things.

Keep up the great work Mojo. It's always fun to check in.

Tom Byron left LucasArts a long while back as far as I know. I think the last project he was really involved with was Jedi Knight 2. Considering how long Galaxies was in development, he was probably somewhat involved in marketing that before he left LEC, but it's been a while. He's been in the games magazine business since then I think.
