Interview with Ron Gilbert 04 Sep, 2010 / 8 comments

After the release of DeathSpank, Kroms went on a quest to find Ron Gilbert and ask him some important questions. The day he waved goodbye was the last time he was ever seen by a mortal soul.

Though Kroms disappeared, it seems he was successful as the following interview appeared in Mojo's mail box on a tattered piece of paper.

    Very interesting interview :)

As much as I love DeathSpank as it is, I had probably loved much more the originally intended game.

Was I the only one that read "I, Ron Gilbert, will be releasing a slew of oldschool adventure games for the iPad"?

    Say it is so Ron!

    Excellent interview! Thanks Kroms!

This gives me hope on DeathSpank and also again featured a lot of fun stuff from Lucasfilm's past that I didn't know of. :-)

It's always a pleasure to read Ron Gilbert interviews, the man is a class act.

Disappear? Never. I'm more like the chicken, less like the smallpox.

Glad you guys like the interview. A good chunk of Mojo's other dudes chimed in with the better questions, so thanks to you. And big thanks to Ron for his patience, and for his great answers.

    Neat stuff indeed.
I've noticed a few slightly wrong lines:
"After only a day of brainstorming, it because clear that it wouldn't work because, as you stated, DeathSpank is who he is." that's probably a "became" that goes there.
"Getting together with the two of them as a lot of fun." a little typo over there.

Excellent interview. Particularly cool to hear how the ill-fated Good & Evil somewhat seeped into the game. And I finally know how Ron feels about MI4!

Okay, now some things about the "sequel" (ahem) are a bit clearer.
