Hitting the Road is an Educational Experience 27 Feb, 2012 / 3 comments

Over at Kotaku, Chris Person has put together a nice little montage of all the words he learned while playing Sam & Max Hit the Road.

If I had thought about using this as a studying tool, I wouldn't have had to spend all that money on an SAT tutor. Instead, I just stuck to using "how pavlovian" as a catchphrase to bewilder my friends (which is obviously the best line in the game). It's also nice to see there's another AdLib soundtrack aficionado out there.

True story: a lot of the english I know today (I'm a native spanish speaker,) I learned it from playing videogames in the nineties. Back then most games weren't translated, but still I would sat there for hours reading every book in the library of games like Myst or Alone in the Dark to get the whole backstory.

Bad Asp! didn't post anything about suing LucasArts and getting the old HTR dubbers yet. I'm worried sick. Hope he's not dead.

I remember a letter sent into a gaming magazine -- I think PC Gamer or PC Zone -- about someone who got a question right on a science exam about kerosene lamps from playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
