Well I just woke up and felt the pain... last night was pretty uneventful despite the b00z3, but hey, Now its 2003! wow.

Soon robots will take over all our jobs, including mojo news posting, so look forward to the incessant bleeping of the mind drones.

Mojo wishes all of you a happy new year, and lets hope this one will be one with a smaller number of server changes and down time fun!

OMG capitalist bastards!!!!!!!!!!!11111111 Oops I'm a girlfriend of a tech guy. Uh.

I got an ipod for christmas!

A good new years resolution would be to have your "technical staff" actually receiving the email when your server goes down.
  • ZeroXcape on 01 Jan, 2003, 16:02…
raven_whatever: I turn that feature off once we get the first 6000 e-mails. Give me your e-mail address and I'll just have tech@lfnetwork.com forward to you. That would be what... the communist approach? You be the drone that sorts through it, that way our mail server doesn't have to.

Feel free to post your e-mail here, or I can just look it up under your username.
  • raVen_image on 01 Jan, 2003, 13:25…
    "mailto:tech@lfnetwork.com
This address no longer accepts mail.'

    Very nice job, guys.
  • Metallus on 01 Jan, 2003, 16:11…
C'mon everyone, raVen's only being truthful.
  • raVen_image on 03 Jan, 2003, 09:05…
    Precisely. :-)

And, despite the BS answers you've all flung in my general direction, you've still allowed some truth to slip through. Thank you for your cooperation, boys.

Hey, you get what you pay for. Oh that's right. You aren't paying anything.
  • raVen_image on 01 Jan, 2003, 15:00…
    That's a typical Capitalist mentality:
"An email has been dipatched to our Technical Staff" ... and then ...
"This address no longer accepts mail."

In other words: "Pay nothing ... get lied to, Biatch." I wonder if this is how the girlfriends of the "tech" staff get treated. Pay nothing for the date... 'I love you, Biatch' Nice! Highly enlightened!

I don't mind so much that the users can't get to Lucasforums, because it's inevitable considering the unrealistic demands thaey put on their servers ... it's the lies that annoy me. If you have no intention of receiving an email ... than don't tell me that you are. Tell the truth for once in your lives!

"We have no intention of receiving an email when the forums are down." It's very simple. Speak the truth.
  • CaliMonk on 02 Jan, 2003, 07:36…
Who would have though people actually think the world spins around them. You pay nothing, however you enjoy using the forums.

Servers are machines, machines have problems. You really think the Administrators of those servers don't know that?

Anyway you need to get the cork out of your ass and enjoy the new year.

    Happy new year all!
  • Metallus on 02 Jan, 2003, 09:32…
I'm fairly certain that you've earned his enmity for such a wild accusation of "enjoying the forums".
  • Emma on 02 Jan, 2003, 04:02…
    So much anger.

Oh, and happy new year everyone.
  • Murray-Mint on 01 Jan, 2003, 15:53…
Every page in the forums retrieves database content. Every time the error occurs, an email is despatched. This happens for all users. The email address would soon be overwhelmed with emails within about 30 seconds.
  • telarium on 01 Jan, 2003, 15:23…
If it claims that an e-mail has been dispatched, that's not really a lie, is it? Because an e-mail WAS dispatched... the POP account just didn't accept it. Hooray for technicalities. But for future reference, if you do have a problem with the forums, you can probably contact Metallus at metallus@mixnmojo.com and get better results that way.

By the way, it's difficult to have capitalist mentality when I don't have any invested capital in our "business", not to mention the fact that I don't earn any revenue myself.
  • Thrik on 01 Jan, 2003, 15:20…
The chances are that if something goes wrong with the forums the admins know about it, so worrying about the tech support not working isn't worth it as it's likely emailing them won't speed up anything.

Oh, maybe you could post this in the help/feedback centre next time? I'm sure nobody else reading these comments actually cares - most of them, anyway. If you did, I apologize.
  • spaff on 02 Jan, 2003, 02:46…
you see the thing is that until we get a mail server, our email is on the same server as some sites, so when they go down.. so does the mail.

hopefully we will get a new shiny mail server soon tho

    love capitalist spaff. xxx
